Mami smiled at the joke. "That's a good one, never heard that before." she said. None of the witches or wizards made jokes like that except for maybe Wilbur but she didn't know him very well. She glanced back at the fountain that lay in the center of the park.
"Do you always come out here to play your music?"

"No, not always," ikuto said thinking of the countless lives he'd taken since becoming a demon, "It's deffinatly one of my favorite's though." He shrugged and leaned back into his arms. Mami was interesting enough, though that unlike so many others, he didn't want to suck her dry just yet. This was different for him. He didn't like it. "any family?" he asked.

The smile on her face dropped suddenly. Her eyes were less happy than they had been. "No, I'm afraid not. My parents died awhile ago." she replied. "I wasn't sure if i was happy i survived to be honest, but i think a shooting star saved my life." she gave a tiny laugh. "Sound silly right?"

"Not at all," Ikuto said. He tried not to think about his dead mother or missing sister. There were somethings that still made the boy feel remorse and guilt. His family was one of those, maybe that was why Mami was different. She had blonde hair in pigtails so much like Utau, it almost made him think his sister was sitting with them. Shaking his head he tried to think of something else to talk about. "So how do you like the town?" he asked.

Mami nodded her head. "Oh yes, i love the town, it's quite very exotic and filled with so many different people." she replied. "I find people to be very interesting and well, i like to observe them." she replied. Surprise entered her head. She was telling a complete stranger, things that she didn't want anyone else to know.
It was not a good thing but she decided not to let it show

"Same," he said, "You never know what people are like until you observe them." He moved to sit up and look at the blonde, "So why did you come here?"

Mami looked at him for a moment before shrugging. "Where else do you go when you have powers like this?" she asked. "I wanted to be able to control my powers better so that....." she shook her head. "What about you? Why come here?"

"No where else to go," he said, "Good food...easy life." He didn't mention how Eris had found him or how he had demonic powers. For now he just wanted to enjoy the grass on his back and the sun light around him. If that ment a pretty girl was with him, that just made it a bonus. Granted the boy was slowly feeding off her, but he was still starving. Since he desided not to drain her, he'd need to find another victim later. Preferably onethat didn't remind him of his little sister.

"Easy?" Mami asked confused. "You find that having shape-shifting powers to be easy." her golden eyes were still confused. "Forgive me if i ask how having those powers makes your life easier?" the idea of being able to shapeshift into an animal fasinated her but at the same time, the idea terrifed her.

"Well for one I can do whatever I want as an animal. It's just easy. I don't have to worry about much, just where i can find my next meal," Ikuto said with a shrug. He didn't have much knowlege on shape shifters other than if he wanted to he could turn into a cat. He didn't want to show Mami anything that would raise her suspicions about his race though.

"Founds like it can get rough though." the golden haired girl said as she got out the food. "What if its raining and people don't like the animal you are? You have to deal with their abuse all the time." She knew what it was like at some points to not feel welcome but she wasn't sure why she felt so better with him around

"That doesn't really matter," he said, "I could become one they do like. Problem solved." The blue haired boy gave her a look. He couldn't place it, as a light witch once she figured him out he'd be an easy target.

Mami nodded. "That's true, but aren't you afraid that they won't like you for being a shape-shifter? There are some people who just hate anyone that's different." she asked. "I know that i have seen some people being treated poorly because they are different."
She twirled a lock of her curly hair again before taking a sip of a soda. "Aren't you scared that you'll be alone?"

"Alone? Me, scared?" Ikuto started laughing really hard, "That's pretty good. No, I'm not at all. I've been alone for a long time. It doesn't really matter to me anymore."
He felt himself closing off, becoming more morose. There was no point in talking, she'd figure out that he was actually a demon. Then he'd be on his own again, why was he even trying to hang onto her? Screw it.
The boy looked into the basket and slipped his hand under it. Flipping it over and dumping the contents onto the ground. He was irritated by the sun more than her questions. Just the way she looked at him made him think of his sister. Involuntarily he rubbed his forehead and scowled. His ears and tail popped up, signaling to him that he was done feeding for now.

Mami didn't yell or scream like most girls would if they saw the boy who had ruined her perfect lunch if that's what he watned her to do then he was in for a bigger mistake. Slowly, she stood up and brushed the crumbs off her skirt. Turning, she gave the cat a glare and smacked him across the face.
"If you were more open with people then maybe you wouldn't be alone." she muttered quietly. "Being alone is painful but knowing that someone else is in pain is even worse." She gave him a quiet stare. "I didn't want to believe the rumors about demons, that they are all heartless monsters that never care...but i guess i was stupid again."
