Name: Lady Amalthea
Age: Immortal
Movie/Show: The Last Unicorn
Picture:
human:
unicorn:
Other: No, she just can become a human at will but prefers her unicorn state. Also I shall just include a bit of what a unicorn can do (kinda from the movie)
Personality:
In a way, Amalthea can feel no regret, having a strong sense of chivalry and justice, she sees things almost as black and white. Deserved or not deserved. She knows things beyond the age she sounds like, being immortal and knowing more than others. She’s wise and quick to act, acting on her own thoughts and views than others. She’s not one to be pushed around. She isn’t fond of mankind, seeing much of their stupidity and how they do not believe in her kind. She’s also brave, the fight or flight instinct interchangeable on her depending on a situation. She dislikes those who disrespect her and will clearly show it. Being the only unicorn to regret and love, she does show her compassion at times, though it can be hard for her. She’s been indifferent her immortal life, things do not easily change for one as old as she. She isn’t a fearful being, once again things being black or white to her. At first she can come off as one who cares for no one, as that is how she does seem. Once you get to know her though, you can really see the ways she’s torn between human and unicorn.
History:
At one point, the unicorn lived in a forest, her magic spreading to the creatures who resided in the woods of her home. It was always spring and no hunter could catch any of her friends, her magic having been partially learned and used to hide. That was, until two hunters entered her forest, proclaiming her to be the last. At that time, she was just a unicorn, she felt no regret, remorse, or love. But the curiosity burned in her. Was she truly the last? Against the elder hunter’s warning not to leave her safe haven, Amalthea leaves, wishing to find others like her. A butterfly tells her what has become of them, the red bull chasing them from across the earth in order to capture them, yet Unicorn was told no more. To her, she was Unicorn, a creature with no name than what she was. She traveled farther yet, running from a man who had thought her to only be a mare (infuriating her) and she rested on the side of a road. A spell was cast on her and she was taken, becoming part of Mommy Fortuna’s Midnight Carnival. A spell is set on her, a false horn seeing as some could not see her true horn. All the other Animals in the carnival, are frauds, except the harpy, another immortal such as herself. A young wizard, Schmendrick eventually sets her free, and the Unicorn goes to set all other creatures free. Including the harpy who wishes to kill. Instead of going for the Unicorn, the harpy attacks Mommy Fortuna, and the Unicorn, along with Schmendrick leave.
From there they meet a group of thugs/thieves and Molly-Grue comes to join their group. They continue to travel, reaching close to Haggard’s castle. The red bull appears, trying to drive the Unicorn to the others, but Schmendrick, with a bout of real magic, turns her into a human. Something the immortal dislikes, having now become mortal. For a while all they do is work in the castle, Unicorn becoming Lady Amalthea, and losing more of the unicorn to the mortal ways. Learning to love prince Lir. They eventually find the way to the red bull’s lair, the unicorns being in the ocean just outside the castle. The red bull figures out what Lady Amalthea really is and gives chase. She begs Lir to keep her human, yet she must be changed anyway. At first, she runs, but Lir gets between, killing Lir. In grief, Amalthea attacks, thrusting the bull into the ocean and setting the other unicorns free. All of them come and crumble the castle with King Haggard in it, and the unicorn revives Lir. She than leaves, only to return briefly and say goodbye to Schmendrick, thanking him for teaching her the things of mortality, her now being the only unicorn who knows to love and regret.
She departs for her forest, yet on her way a meteor runs over the sky. It has something to it that Amalthea could feel was magic, and she did not want it. She reared in a bout of fear and the fire magic burning in the meteor gave out a faint glow, one that caught her horn. Running Amalthea was aware of a transformation, and she was aware of a transformation, and she was soon running on two legs. She was human once more.

Sample Post:
Amalthea let an angry whinny pierce the air, violet eyes flashing and horn glinting in the moonlight. Not like the two drunken men who had come to approach her would notice. One had dared try to lay his filthy hand upon her flank, and now suffered a nice gash on his hand. Another had been knocked down by the sheer force of her long forelegs. Another whinny pierced the air and Amalthea wheeled around rearing and dashing off into the dark forest. Men. Indignant beasts, that what they were! All but Schmendrick and Lir had proved this. It was a fact she was sure all unicorns knew. They did not see her horn, did not know her name, nor could they speak it in her prescence. As her anger waned while she ran deeper into the tree cover, a tight grip at surrounded her heart. It wasn’t unfamiliar anymore. She’d found the feeling wrap around and tighten itself in her chest before. Whenever she thought of Schmendrick, Lir, and Molly-Grue. The wrap would tighten, like a harness pulled taught by a heavy load. Amalthea slowed, her steps slower and in a slow, sweet moving gait, head hanging low as she walked and thought.
“Men and all the burden they bring. All the regret and love.” A low whiny left her party lips, a clear, animalistic yearning accompanied the sound. To contrary belief, a unicorn was no animal and was no human, their thinking and mindset much more thoughtful and wise than either. A unicorn would take great offense in being called a mere mare or stallion. They were far more than dumb beasts, and treacherous human beings. A concept humans could not clearly take hold of. Except the three she’d come to befireind and the one she’d come to love. It was human, and the human feeling stuck with her. It was an uncomfortable feeling in the immortal body. Often at times she’d found herself dreaming, feeling the mortalness she remembered and how every second leeched life away from her. Often times, she’d awaken from the feeling, finding herself transformed into a human once more. It was scary to find herself like that, and when she did she tried so hard to focus on being a unicorn once more. The longer she was human, the more she forget, her eyes hiding things from others and herself. As a human she felt all the feelings and mortal things from the time at Haggard’s castle come back to her, dim but real. As a unicorn, they were remembered yet she had more control. More time.
By this time and at the end of the thinking process and near the time of sleep, Amalthea settled down, lowering herself to her white knees and hanging her head low. Eyes closing with the heavy force of sleep and she dozed. An hour into deep sleep, and in the place of a unicorn was that of a beautiful woman, long hair enclosing her body held in the fetal position like a blanket. Her words mouthing and muttering words.

- If you run from an immortal it draws their attention
- Can grant wishes but cannot turn things into something they're not (Only grants wishes if you've done them a great favor)
- Horn flashes blue when using magic
- She's no taller than a man
- Can speak and be seen as a unicorn only by believers
- As a human she can feel death
- The longer she's in human form the more she forgets about being a unicorn
- When she forgets as a human, her violet eyes start to go blank and show no reflection
