(Blah. Sucky Title is sucky. Anyway this is open to Gothel and Ratigan only unless me and Gothel decide to open it up to others ^^)
Ratigan was glad the moon's ugly head was no where near him. He could remain his refined self for the time being until the darkness clouded his mind once again. His nose twitched as he walked towards the castle, strolling and humming his little tune. Ears perked as he saw the castle, smiling and crawling inside.
"Hello?" He asked, "Is anyone about?"

(ooc: Date for the timeline, please? ^_^)
At that moment, Gothel was walking through the castle and humming her own little tune softly to herself. No students about at this hour, or if they were they were hard at work practicing their magic. Hopefully there would be no interruptions for the time being. Gothel didn't necessarily want to be disturbed at the moment. In fact, the raven-haired woman was quite pleased to have a bit of alone time. No students pestering her about how to perform spells, no Hiccup complaining about how he wasn't getting his fire spells to work properly, and definitely no Arthur stuck in some rodent form or another begging for help to transform back into a human. Yes, Gothel was enjoying herself quite a bit at that moment.
"Hello? Is anyone about?"
Gothel stopped walking at the sound of the voice. Now there was a voice she hadn't heard before. It definitely didn't sound like one of her fellow witches or wizards. Perhaps it was a newcomer looking for refuge? Looking around, Gothel soon found her answer. There, not all that far from her, was Ratigan. Not quite what she had expected, but Gothel didn't mind too much. Even if she had treasured the quiet, she wouldn't mind taking up a conversation with this fellow if he was so inclined.
"Well, what have we here?" Gothel asked casually. Most women would be put off by the presence of rodents. Not Gothel. Gothel didn't mind them terribly. "Someone seeking shelter, or looking for a place to stay? I'd gladly offer both." Gothel stated. Of course she had her own reasons for offering a place to stay for those who came looking for one. Most people would probably not have been so hospitable, but... Gothel had her reasons. Besides, this fellow didn't look too bad. He seemed fairly reasonable.

(Can you pick one? I don't know the dates ^^'') Ratigan shook his head. Smiling up at the female human, Ratigan took off his hat and gave the woman a bow. Polite rat was polite.
"Good evening, Madame, what a pleasant little castle you have here," the animal said, scampering up onto a ledge to be close to the level the woman was at. "My name is Professor Ratigan. Who may I be addressing? The queen of this lovely castle?" He smiled.

(ooc: No problem, I can do that. June 2nd would probably be a good date.)
Gothel found herself smiling a little as the rodent spoke. He was quite the charmer, she would admit that much. Normally she would have said that flattery would get Ratigan nowhere, but since they were alone it seemed to be okay. She rather liked him, strange as that seemed. "I wouldn't say 'queen', but you would be correct. I am the head of this castle. I've turned it into a sort of refuge for wizards and witches alike, and those seeking to master their powers." she explained. Being the sneaky woman that she was, Gothel wouldn't divulge the reasoning behind that to anyone. Especially not a newcomer like Ratigan. Like him though she did, she couldn't betray that principle.
"You may call me Gothel. And whom do I have the pleasure of addressing?" Gothel asked. Who was this little charming rodent? It wasn't often that she met one so eloquent. Especially out in the area they were in.

Ratigan chuckled softly. Had he been big enough he might have kissed the hand of the woman who was addressing him. However, tiny as he was he couldn't. He titled his head to the side, smiling to the woman. "A London professor and the world's greatest criminal mind, my dear," Ratigan said.
"As for shelter, I would say I'd appreciate some of that. I may not be a wizard or a witch but I'm something of a magical creature myself." A mysterious glint appeared in his eye. "When the moon strikes my fancy."

"Charmed to meet you." Gothel said. Given the size difference of the two of them, it was going to be difficult to offer her hand to him. She had to admit that he was the most charming rodent she had ever met. That, obviously, didn't include Arthur. The boy was about as charming as a paper bag. When he wasn't getting stuck in animal forms, he was awkward. That wasn't important at the moment, though. She was alone with Ratigan. The least she could do was grant his request. He didn't seem like he would cause any problems for the other witches or wizards. In fact, Gothel thought they would get along well.
"I certainly wouldn't mind if you stayed. I believe the others would be more than happy to have you with us." Gothel said at last. She definitely wouldn't mind. She thought the pair of them were going to get along just fine.

"Wonderful!" Ratigan said, "I just love it when things come together ever so nicely." He chuckled softly again, happy that the woman was giving him a chance. He was small, though destructive, and he wasn't sure exactly how destructive his new were-rat form could be but the rodent was sure that he could get along with Gothel. She seemed just as charming as he was which was a serious feat. He looked around.
"Now," he said, "I'm sure I can find a hole to crawl into, so accommodations will not be a problem for me." He titled his head to the side. "Are you a witch, Gothel?"
