(ooc: Excuse the horrid title. The date is June 2. For the first page it's closed to Angel and Wilbur. After the first page, though, anyone is welcome.) Was this where that feeling had been leading her? Angel had to admit it was more important looking than she had imagined. Then again, what had she really been expecting in a forest? The street dog was so used to the streets of New England that being in a forest was more than a little strange to her. Still, she wanted to know what had called her there. The golden-furred street dog walked forward, undeterred by the appearance of the castle, and looked around. "Not bad..." Angel said. A little smile graced her face as she continued to walk forward. This was starting to look good. Maybe this was where she belonged. Suddenly, Angel's ears perked up and she sucked in a breath of air. She heard footsteps. Someone was coming.

"Argh! Why doesn't this work!" Wilbur growled in anger. He couldn't figure it out. For the past few hours he had been trying to get time to freeze but so far, it had proven to be a fail, yet he had managed to slow it down, for a split second. That wouldn't help him escape his teacher's wrath. His feet trudged through the grass of the courtyard before he noticed a small dog.
Confusion was in his eyes. He didn't understand it. What was a dog doing here? "Are you lost?"

A human. A human was what Angel had heard. Instinctively, she took a step back and looked over Wilbur with a wary sort of eye. He didn't seem to be trying to get rid of her. That was a welcome relief from the usual treatment street dogs got from some humans. He seemed all right. To her surprise, too, Angel felt something different about him. Strange as it sounded, Angel almost felt as though she was meant to meet up with Wilbur. Angel took another step forward, feeling more confident than she had initially, and shook her head.
"Not lost. I just... felt like I was being called here. I guess you could call it an instinct." Angel replied. It still seemed strange to Angel. Why would she have an instinct telling her to look for a castle in the middle of the woods? More importantly, Angel wanted to know why she felt like Wilbur was someone she was supposed to find. "Where am I?" Angel asked.

""I think we all have that feeling sometimes." Wilbur replied with a smile. "You are in the Courtyard of Black Castle, though i am not sure if it's really called that at all, kids just call it that because its so creepy looking." the boy took a seat on the ground before. "Mother Gothel here is the head witch, we are all her students, though i don't think we really want to be."

"Black Castle? Witches?" Angel asked, stepping a bit closer to Wilbur and looking him over again. Was he a wizard or something? But that didn't make sense. Wizards weren't real. At least, Angel didn't think they were. She'd only known them to exist in books humans read, and she didn't do much reading about the subject. Dogs couldn't read much, after all. "Well, it sounds like I've ended up somewhere interesting." Angel said. She sat down near the black-haired boy and tilted her head to the side, thinking about what he had said. Why wouldn't they want to be there?
"Anyway, that's all well and good... but I don't get what that has to do with me." she said. She didn't know why she apparently had a little bit of ability to control time. On top of that, Angel didn't know why she felt connected to this boy. Wilbur was nice, that much she could determine fairly easily, but that didn't necessarily mean she was supposed to stick around. "I mean... why would I feel like I was being called here? I'm not a witch. I'm just a dog." Angel said.

Wilbur shrugged. "Who knows, magic works in mysterious ways, maybe you have magic in you." the idea did seem crazy but it was the only reason that Wilbur could think of it. "That or you are an alien. but you don't look like an alien." He gave a smile. "Books in the library have said that animals are familars to witches, maybe you are one of those."

"A familiar?" Angel repeated. She didn't know what that was, so she was puzzled by the idea. While she thought it over, though, what had happened with the car kept repeating over and over in her mind. She had made time slow down, even though it was for a brief moment, and saved herself. It might not have explained how she had been able to slow things down for that moment, but maybe Wilbur was on to something. Maybe they were meant to be together. "I don't know about that, Wilbur, but since I got here I've had this feeling. Call me crazy, but it's almost like maybe... we were supposed to meet." Angel suggested.

Wilbur smiled at Angel for a moment. "I dont' think I'll call you crazy, it doesn't have a nice ring to it." he said. "But i think you are right, maybe we were supposed to meet, after all, according to Gothel, fate does have a mysterious way of putting things together." He had never really paid attention to Gothel's lectures for the most part but that was one lesson that he did listen to.
"Maybe it's destiny."

"I've never really believed in destiny." Angel admitted with a shrug. If there was such a thing, wouldn't she have found a home by then? A family? Nonsense. She had been dealt bad luck so many times it was no longer funny. Why would this have been any different? Then again... Wilbur did look like he needed someone. She could have said he'd look good with a canine companion. Maybe... maybe this was the right place after all. "But if you think so, I guess I could stay." she said.
"I mean... you know, if you think we're supposed to stick together, that is." Angel said after a moment. Angel wondered if she should mention her strange experience of being able to slow down time. He might think her strange for bringing it up. On the other hand, if this was the right place then maybe Wilbur would accept her no matter what.

Wilbur gave a big smile. "Great." he said. "I mean that's awesome. Never met a talking dog before so its really sweet." he rubbed the back of his head sheepishly when he realized he was rambling. "Oh, and in case you were wondering about the wizards. I happen to be one..."

Well, that was certainly new. Angel had felt something was odd about the castle, but to house witches and wizards was something quite different from what she had expected. Actually, if she were to admit it out loud she wouldn't have known what to expect at all. Though, the fact that this boy seemed to belong there and was a wizard was somewhat... comforting to her. "Maybe you can give me some insight then." she said. Angel rose to her paws and looked skyward as she recalled what had happened that night she had run into the house pet. What had happened to him, anyway? Had he tried to follow her?
"A few nights ago, something... strange happened. I was running across this street, trying to get back to where I live, but I almost got hit by a car." normally Angel didn't lay quite so much on the table, but in this case she was willing to go against that. She had to know what had happened. "Right before I could have been hit, though, it was like time just... stood still around me but I kept going. By the time I'd gotten across the street, things turned normal again." Angel said. Maybe Wilbur could explain what had happened. Normally Angel wouldn't be so inclined to lay her hope in the hands of a boy she barely knew, but in this case she wasn't too particular about the outcome.
"So... what happened?"

Wilbur blinked back his surprise and excitement. So she was a dog with the power over time. Well that was convient, now he wasn't the only one. "I think i know what happened, you must have gotten some of that meteor's magic, if that's the case it means you are a magical animal with the power over time."
he said. "That's what happened to me, at least from your experience i have to relate."

As much as Angel hated to admit it, that somehow did make sense. It explained why she was able to slow down time for that brief moment. Otherwise, though, it didn't explain why it felt like she had been looking for someone when she arrived at the castle. Why she felt so drawn to Wilbur. The pomeranian shrugged a little, dismissing the thought, and decided not to worry so much about it. "I guess that makes sense. You said you have a handle on time yourself, right? It can't just be a coincidence that we both have it, if that's the case." Angel said. Why would they both have power over time? What was the reasoning behind it?

"I guess not." Wilbur said. "I don't know much about animals having magic, so i only just assumed that they didn't." he replied. Scratching the back of his neck he gave the dog a big smile. Maybe she was...what was that term that he had heard about...familiar? Something like that. "Well, you are welcome to stay with me if you would like."

Well, he wasn't much to look at but even Angel would admit that having a little company wouldn't be a bad thing. Besides, she felt drawn to him. Even if he hadn't basically invited her, Angel probably would have stuck around with Wilbur. She offered a little doggy sort of grin and a nod. "Sounds all right to me. I don't have anywhere else to go, and this seems like the best place to be right now. So, why not." Angel said.
It occurred to her that she still hadn't introduced herself. Typically, though, Angel liked for those she met to figure things out for themselves. Since Wilbur hadn't asked, she decided that she wouldn't give him a name until he figured out he hadn't gotten it from her yet.
