(ooc: Because I am very eager to start these shenanigans. Time to explore the alternate reality where Flynn, Wilbur, Rapunzel, and Hiccup are one big happy family! So it should go without saying that it's only open to these four. Unless Sinbad would like to join in on these shenanigans and become the fifth member of the family.
For reference, this is a completely alternate reality. So by this point they're all one big happy family living in the same home and such.)
Early evening was overtaking the sky. Despite that fact, Hiccup couldn't bring himself to move from his spot beneath the shady oak tree. The warm breeze caressing the young Viking's face was enough to lull him into a relaxed state. Things had become much more relaxed than what he had been used to for many years beforehand. No longer was he a part of the society of Berk. No longer did he have to try and be someone he wasn't. He was Hiccup here. That was all he needed to be... and he loved it.
He supposed his encountering Rapunzel, Flynn, and Wilbur when he had was fate's way of intervening with his attempt at thriving on his own. Had he not run into them when he had, it would be pretty safe to assume he would have been attacked and killed by something before too long. Fitting in with this strange family, though, had taken time. Hiccup had never experienced having brothers before, which were what Flynn and Wilbur had essentially become, and so he had had to grow used to Flynn's torment and Wilbur's teasing. It was like having a pair of insane brothers. Essentially, though, that was what they were. After all, Hiccup had been adopted into their family. Then there was Rapunzel. She was like the best friend he had never had. They were totally on the same wavelength. So much so that often times Hiccup wondered if perhaps she was the older female counterpart of himself that he had never known about.
Where did he fit in to the family? Hiccup liked to think of himself as the rational one that no one bothered to take advice from when they needed it. The sensible one, if you will. Hiccup actually liked it that way, though. He wouldn't have put himself in any other situation.
Shaking those thoughts away, Hiccup returned to the moment he was in presently. Enjoying the summer evening and just relaxing had been his pastime at the moment. A contented sigh escaped the redhead as he folded his arms back behind his head. This was the life. He could have stayed outside forever if he had wanted to, but the nagging feeling at the back of his mind made him realize that sooner or later he would be called back inside. Strangely enough, though, Hiccup decided to ignore it for once. Home wasn't too far off, as was evidenced by the fact that their home was located nearby, so it wasn't like he was terribly far from home. He could come back inside whenever he wanted to. Or, better yet, he could stay out there and wait for the others to join him. That was assuming, of course, that they wanted to hang out outside instead of inside in the first place.

((ooc: I'm just going to go with the idea that Rapunzel is brunette ))
Rapunzel peered out the house window. Rapunzel had dishes, pots, pans, kitchen utensils basically. Being the only woman in a family of men, well the brunette had taken it upon herself to be the cook. Though she mostly baked and did make some mean hazel nut soup, she was prone to try some wacky recipes. As was evidenced by the supply of vegetables, fruit, and meat lying on the kitchen counter. Though, as she peered through the window she saw the vague form of Hiccup under a large tree. Setting down all utensils and strange ideas, the woman made her way out the back door and through the grass.
There was a pleasant early evening breeze that ruffled her short brown hair. She was still prone to walking bare foot, which she did now. Feet digging into soft ground Rapunzel came to sit by the redhead. She looked and stared out into space for a while. Letting the warm breeze lull her into thought as it had done to the teen. For a while, it was quiet, but Rapunzel leaned her head against the oak and the spell broke.
"Nice evening. Probably saved everyone from an odd dinner... for a little longer." The brunette's laugh rang out, as she turned her freckled face to the viking teen. "How long've you been out here Hiccup? You're more of an outdoorsy guy than I think anyone would have thought!" Rapunzel joked, prodding the teen with an elbow. It was a lovely evening. When, if she got back to cooking she might force everyone to eat outside and enjoy the evening. When it got dark, maybe they could build a fire. Roast s'mores. She was thinking ahead, again, yet in this place it was nice. Though Rapunzel did nothing to act on it, content to just sit there with Hiccup and enjoy the coming evening.
Rapunzel began to absently pick the little dandelions in her reach, writhing them into a wreath-like crown. Fiddling with the hoop as emerald eyes scanned the surrounding area. "Wow.... it's a nice evening. The other lazy bums need to get out here." The girl muttered eyes looking back to the house. As if staring at it would summon the males from it and join her and Hiccup. Though, it wouldn't appear for that to happen unless the two's disappearance was noticed. It shouldn't be too long until stomachs rumbled, though.

"Hey! We are not lazy. Sinbad and Flynn are lazy. I, however, am a speed demon and always active." The raven haired teen smirked as he walked out to his new found family. It was weird that they could call themselves "related" when they were all really different. "Besides, i was busy."

Hiccup turned his head to face Rapunzel, the pleasant smile on his face no less so despite the teasing, and offered a little shrug. "A couple of hours, I guess. I just got caught up in relaxing out here and lost track of time." Hiccup said. It was true, though. He didn't have a clue about just how long he'd been out there. Relaxing was all the redhead had wanted to do, and relax he did. Now he had some company with his brunette friend, too. "What can I say? I guess I can't shake my Viking routes. We're outdoorsy people." he said. Him? An outdoorsy person? Not terribly likely, but Hiccup liked to think of himself as at least part Viking to some degree or another. Sure he wasn't as rough and rugged as say... Flynn, but he did enjoy relaxing outside when he had the opportunity.
Wilbur's arrival couldn't have been more perfect. It seemed somehow he had attracted the rest of the little family. Not that Hiccup had a problem with that. He smirked teasingly and shook his head. "Sure you're not lazy. And I'm a dragon tamer." Hiccup laughed. He did wonder where Flynn had gotten off to, though. The older male should have been around somewhere. But the question was where.
----
That question was easy to answer. Flynn actually was sneaking toward the group at that moment, grinning deviously as he approached and appearing to want to do something to mess with the peaceful air around the group. Not that he didn't like his strange family, of course. He got along fairly well with the family. He just liked to mess with Hiccup as all older brothers should. He stopped just behind the tree, poking his head out ever so slightly so that he could see the trio before him, and focused his attention on Hiccup. Time to mess with Hiccup. He reached his hand out and quickly poked the young Viking's shoulder. When Hiccup turned to look back, Flynn ducked behind the tree so he couldn't see him.
"Too easy." Flynn snickered.
"Flyyyyynn. I can hear you."
Flynn froze. It seemed he'd been found out.

Rapunzel rolled her eyes at the man's antics. "I didn't know I was a babysitter now." The brunette called, tilting her head back so she could see the barest hint of Flynn's clothing from the tree. She did acknowledge Wilbur though, a smile spreading across her lips as well. "Of course you're not lazy Wilbur. And Hiccup can fly." She crooned jabbing the scrawny red head's side lightly with her elbow. It seemed she and Hiccup were on the same track mind when it came to the others' laziness. She herself was always busying herself, unable to stay still. All the open space needed to be walked on, explored and used so much a deep route was to be dug into them by her feet.
Looking at the red head, Rapunzel's smile widened. "Hiccup I think you're a people magnet. First me, Wilbur, now Mr. Peek-A-Boo." She jabbed a thumb towards the tree where Flynn insisted on childish antics. With so many boys in one household Rapunzel quite often feared she was normal. Though who could blame them? Though not a family by complete blood it seemed, mostly through 'adoption' a family they were and would remain if Rapunzel had anything to say about. She loved them all to bits. Brown hair ruffled in the evening breeze. Hiccup had sure picked a great day to come outside, and it seemed when one of their family members moved towards another, all of them seemed to gravitate to that spot as if it was the center of the world. Funny and sweet in different aspects. For a family of patches like them, they made a great blanket. Metaphorically of course.
