(ooc: same day as Loss of the Sun, open only to Fairies, Rain and their allies, which is why Rex is there.)
The demon hunter had gotten used to being in the Fairy Meadow. It had gotten to be quite relaxing, and very fun, especially with the discussion with the faires and their views on the war. Kimiko had gotten him into coming up with new demon hunting weapons and not to mention. What guy wouldn't want to be around a bunch of hot fairies?
However, today seemed to be very very different. It seemed ominous and less friendly

As the thoughts of the demon hunter spread in his mind, the ominous feeling appeared through the trees. It was in the form of a spindly legged mare. Her brown and white pinto body appearing through the trees as if materializing from thin air. Head hung low, nose almost low enough to be mistaken for grazing. Though there was something different about the horse. The deathly cold air that surrounded her, the water reeds woven into her white mane. She seemed to be wet, water droplets coming down her mane that hung in strands. Her coat shining with the water. By the mud on her legs, though it was evident she'd traveled far enough that she should be dry. Maybe it was just the hchilling, charming grace the kelpie carried at all times. Or maybe...
It was the body across her back.
Fairy wings came out her sides at an odd angle, belonging to the fairy she'd intentionally, unknowingly, killed. There was no tip toeing around it. She was though, fulfilling Stella's last wish. She didn't know this fairy's name but she had a feeling it wouldn't be to hard to find out. Blue eyes looked sadly ahead as a figure seemed to stand before her. The sad walk at which she'd come to pace at the entire journey, held. She was in no rush to come to face her kind. Though she went steadily forward. The fairy had wanted to lay on her land with her own kind. Rain would fulfill the promise to every word. As she came to the demon hunter, she was aware that this was none of her kind and moved past.
"Where are the fairies?" Her voice called behind her, though she faced forward. Stopping she raised her head and looked around. Unwillingness in her eyes. She did not want to face her kind, she could have easily left the body and went about. She hadn't though... but how much would that mean? Nothing.

The air was still. Eerie, almost. She didn't believe in signs or coincidences, but if she did, the weather would have worried her, given her that same sinking feeling in her gut as when she had taken a walk one day and had seen the all too familiar tiny frame and ginger hair that once belonged to her ally on the borders of her territory. She had such a hard time keeping it together. Her frist brush with death had not been a pretty one. She took forever in even telling the others that she was dead.
However, she'd long since shoved that into the back of her mind. For a while she doubted herself because of what happened to Giselle, but she had managed to forget about all of her doubt as well.
However, a somewhat sollemn voice had asked where the fairies were. She looked up to see a horse, who looked to be soaked to the bone, for a while, she wondered what had happened. "I'm the Queen of the Fairies." She spoke up. However the bright orange and yellow wings finally caught her attention. Without wasting any time she rushed around to get a better look. What she saw made her heart stop dead. Her friend. Her best friend Stella, was lying limp on the back of the horse, she looked badly beaten, and a little wet as well.
She blinked back the tears in her azure eyes. Not again...this couldn't happen again. Something in the queen snapped in half. "What happened?!" She demanded, though there was na obvious desperation in her voice.

The fairy queen? Rain bowed her head in respect, then proceeded to bend on her knees and let the body of the fairy she'd killed slip off her back. Misty blue eyes stared empty and apologetic at Musa, uneasiness in her belly. With a deep sigh the horse lifted back to all fours, her burden gone. The very air around the kelpie seemed to vibrate with sorrow and guilt. THe kelpie looked to the demon hunter and queen, eyes becoming fixed with Musa's eyes. Though disturbing, the kelpie kept her eye contact and took a step away, fighting the hunger pains in her belly. She didn't want to make the same mistake and get the fairy queen stuck to her adhesive skin.
"I killed her." Rain said simply. "She was on my bridge, bleeding, my impulse and hunger was to great and she grazed my water. I struck and a demon was on the bridge and I presumed they'd been fighting as she was bleeding profusely." The kelpie pinto gestured to the cuts and holes in the fairy. "Death by drowning but I swear upon my kind I did not lay a tooth on her afterwards. I am sorry."
The kelpie set her steely gaze to Musa. The sadness that came from the queen suggested the kelpie would gain no forgiveness. So stiff legged and ready to run, the kelpie awaited her punishment. Or awaited what the punishment might be, she was fully intent on living and leaving. ---- Song: What the Water Gave Me by Florence + the machine Images and codes to their respected owners Table by Rapunzel Don't Steal!
