(ooc: July 5th. Only open to Hiccup, Snotlout, and Astrid for now. That might change later once we get Ruffnut. Scratch that. Also open to Rapunzel.)
The morning had been less than spectacular. While Snotlout had actually succeeded in bringing down a deer for a meal (and enjoyed it immensely), he just felt like he needed to punch something. Or bite something, as the case may be. The black-brown wolf Viking was laying hidden amid some bushes, licking his chops and otherwise sulking about his current state, and let an annoyed huff escape him. This was so stupid. He didn't want to be a werewolf anymore. All Snotlout wanted was to go home again. That, obviously, wouldn't be happening any time soon, and it just irritated him further. He was so mad he could...
Wait. What was that?
Black ears rose into an upright position as Snotlout lifted his head from his paws. He heard a twig snap and he could smell something familiar in the air. Not only that, but he heard a distinctly familiar mumbling nearby. Frustrated sort of mumbling...
Almost as if he was afraid he were dreaming, Snotlout quickly rose to his paws and moved to a better location behind a different bush. To his everlasting delight, who he had hoped it would be was right in front of him. Hiccup. It appeared as though the twiggy former Viking was wandering off on his own and feeling sorry for himself. Snotlout couldn't help but notice the burns on Hiccup's hands. He let a wolfish sort of grin cross his face as he crouched down. The power of the dragons must not be working out so well after all. Snotlout thought. He lowered himself to the ground and waited. Sooner or later, Hiccup would have to move closer. That would be when he pounced.
Whether Hiccup knew it or not, he was indeed heading closer to where Snotlout lay in wait. He was becoming more frustrated by the day. He was improving with his powers, that much he could say for certain, but he still hadn't mastered the art of using fire without burning himself somehow. It frustrated the redhead to no end. "I couldn't end up with water. No, it just had to be fire. You'd think that after all that time in the forge I would be at least skilled enough not to burn myself, but no. I-"
What happened next scared the snot out of Hiccup. A large blackish brown wolf appeared from what appeared to be nowhere and landed right in front of Hiccup. The startled Viking did what any sensible person would do, namely scream, and tried to back away from the wolf. He hadn't noticed the familiar hue of blue that was the wolf's eyes. All he could see was the unrelenting hatred flickering in those blue orbs. In Hiccup's haste to try and get away, he tripped over his own feet and fell over onto the ground.
Snotlout, of course, was quick to act on Hiccup's blunder. The bulky wolf lunged forward and went for the first body part he could think of, namely Hiccup's left leg, and sank his teeth into it. The cry of pain that resounded from within Hiccup was very satisfying. Even more so than the taste of his cousin's blood. "This is for everything you've made happen, cousin." Snotlout sneered.
Oh gods. Oh gods... it's finally happened. I'm doomed! Hiccup thought. As Hiccup lay there, seething in pain from Snotlout's attack and not even taking in his own cousin's words, his thoughts raced as rapidly and his breathing quickened enough to become audible. Somebody... anybody... HELP!

Astrid had been in the area, she'd scented Snotlout on her territory, not that she minded all that much. The teen had seemingly gotten better at hunting, seeing as there were bones picked clean around her territory, and Astrid was going to meet the teen, and see if she could snag a bite. It was her territory, her prey. The blonde was lost in thought, trotting in a somewhat happy sort of fashion through the trees. The forest was oddly silent, a sign that there were predators around and the prey had let on. Snotlout must be hunting or had caught something. She hadn't heard any animal's alarm, so it couldn't be her. She would've silenced the blue jay or squirrel that dared speak against her in her own domain. Astrid had dimly realized she'd lost the scent of the other teen viking, and lifted her nose to the air and to the ground, before following the scent further. She trailed off to the scent of a dead deer, veering off course and looking at the devoured morsel. Snotlout for sure. But the kill was a less than a few hours old, and the blonde was sure Snotlout hadn't gotten far. Trotted along the scent trail further, Astrid's ears stood erect.
A shrill, humanly cry. Not deep enough to be Snotlout's. It was human, familiar... The blonde trotted forward faster and a was able to strain her ears enough to catch a mad scramble, much like that when a werewolf took down it's prey (none to clean that was). Than a cry of pain. Animals didn't make that noise, at least she'd never heard one of the silently dieing deers, or the squealing squirrel or rabbits ever make such a blood chilling sound. Astrid picked up a sprint, loping in the never tiring way wolves had. Approaching closer to whatever had made the noise, she noticed the prey wasn't dead. There was heavy audible breathing, Astrid crouched, carefully bringing herself out of the cover of brush, from behind. She wanted to see her opponent before engaging. Though she was fairly certain it was Snotlout. She brought her head to see.
She was right, it was Snotlout. Blood was thick in the air, and Snotlout had his prey gripped between his teeth. The teen needed to learn not to draw it out if he really wanted food. Astrid took a disapproving step forward. Than her body went into a mixture of brick stiff and jelly. A mop of reddish brown hair was visible. Two pale legs drawn out, one in his cousin's grip. The teen definitely had no chance, he was on the ground. Astrid hadn't known the full extent of Snotlout's hatred for his cousin. She didn't know if the brownish black canine was even capable of killing Hiccup, and she wasn't going to find out.
The blonde canine rushed forward, a deep, guttural snarl vibrating her whole body. Her fur was fluffed out to twice it's size and her tail was raised high above her back. Blonde ears were pinned tightly to her skull, her lips drawn back to the gums. Two savage barks left her open maw, before barely towards Snotlout, using her shoulder to shove towards the canine, hopefully catching him in the ribs. To try and finish the take down if she was lucky enough to have the element of surprise, Astrid's jaws snapped towards the blackish-brown canine's scruff. If he were to move to the side, her feet would catch his flank, lifting her into the air, and over him. If that were to happen, Astrid's jaws would secure the canine's scruff, and take him down with her. If not, well she'd succeeded in at least distracting Snotlout in the attack.
A stream of viking curses mixed in with barks were delivered towards the black/brown viking teen. None to clean.

Once again, Astrid had succeeded in catching Snotlout off guard. He'd been so intent on doing harm to Hiccup that he hadn't noticed her presence at all. No, his focus had fully been put on the pitiful mass of wimp between his teeth. He'd been about to tighten his grip, hoping to break bone, when Astrid slammed into him. The blackish-brown hulk of a wolf yelped, though more in surprise than fear, and was knocked to the ground. He would have reacted in kind, but he felt teeth gripping his scruff and was all but silenced in that moment. Unhappy bulky wolf was unhappy, and let it be known through his own stream of Viking curses. Amid that, though, a few words did manage to get through without being curses.
"What'd you go and do that for? I coulda finally gotten back at him for starting this whole mess!" Snotlout snapped. He was still fully intent on blaming Hiccup for everything that had happened, even if it had been somewhat proven to not be his fault. That was just Snotlout. He was a hardheaded idiot.
From Hiccup's perspective, everything had happened in a speed far too fast for him to fathom. One minute he had been on the ground, breathing heavily and praying to the gods for them to help (for once in their lives), and the next minute he found himself free of Snotlout's grasp and watching as a familiar blonde wolf knocked him to the ground and grabbed him by the scruff of his neck. Realizing he'd been freed, Hiccup hastily scrambled backward and got into a sitting position. It didn't take him long to wrap his hands around his wounded leg in an attempt to stop the bleeding. Unfortunately for him, his breathing hadn't gotten any softer. It was still panicked and hasty, almost as if he was trying to make sense of the whole thing without speaking.
Only when he had begun to try and attend to his injury did he realize the blackish-brown wolf's voice, through the stream of Viking curses, did sound awfully familiar. But Hiccup was doubtful. He didn't want to readily question if it was who he thought it was. But if it was who it appeared to be, Hiccup was in trouble. Deep trouble. Still, he remained silent and waited while trying to soak up blood with his torn up pants leg. He had Snotlout to thank for his new fashion statement.
Yep. This was starting off to be a great day.

"What mess you thick headed idiot?!" Astrid snarled, releasing her grip on Snotlout, and stepping away to stand between the male and Hiccup. "It's not his fault you just happen to be a wolf. A wolf who just took advantage of your cousin. Obviously blood means little to you seeing as you've spilled so much." Astrid was raging, her nose was folded in wrinkles, her pupils tiny dots in the wide expanse of her cold, blue eyes. The blonde fae dashed in, planning a few nice rips to Snotlout's shoulder with scissor like fangs. Metallic clips resounded in the air, and Astrid made her way to dash out, her hackles raised, her legs stiff and tail raised. It almost had the appearance of one guarding what was there's. In many wolfish ways, Astrid had unknowing added Hiccup to an invisible pack. Much like one's dog does, just without you knowing you were in said pack. Except in this case, the dog knew as little as you.
Astrid arched her neck and fluffed out her chest fur, succeeding in looking slightly bigger and a tad bit more intimidating. "Don't try me Snotlout, I can kick your furry bum around the forest. Twice." The she-wolf snarled, threatening the male she'd only a while ago considered a friend from Berk. The sincerity of him coming to look and find her. He'd found her, and Astrid was now unsure whether he was happy with that choice. Astrid could smell the coppery, metal-like scent of blood, and could feel the taste on her tongue. Astrid glared at Snotlout, before slowly backing away, and carefully turning her back to the male and trotting over to examine Hiccup.
Blood was gushing from the wound, and Astrid put a paw on it. It didn't help much. Giving the wound a swift wound lick, Astrid turned around and grabbed a bunch of leaves. It was better than nothing right? Dropping them to the side Astrid shook her head. She was no healer. In Berk she was a warrior, trained to fight and kill. How the hell was she supposed to fix this? "Take off your vest. Apply pressure, keep holding it. Are you feeling... okay?" Wasn't that a grand question? As she could tell with blood gushing from his leg, the betrayal of his blood cousin, and a choice between a pile of leaves or a vest to keep the blood from pumping out of his body. Well of course he was okay! Astrid inwardly slapped herself. She'd have to make a tourniquet something to stop the blood.
Astrid had turned her back to Snotlout, having naively trusted him to not try for his cousin again. Big scary Astrid, had turned into a slightly confused one as she was trying to decide the best way to stop the blood from leaving the scrawny teenager. With his twiggy figure, how much blood could he have left? Blood was like life, the more you lost, the less time you had to live...Maybe you could do that burning thing to stop the bleeding?! Hope flickered. But the blonde realized in order to do that, one had to be missing an appendage. Hiccup still had his leg attached. As far as she could tell...
((ooc: Feel free to attack her :3 ))

Emerald eyes went wide with a mixture of surprise and fear as Astrid went and attacked Snotlout in turn for his being attacked. Registering the blood that became visible from the bulky wolf and the yelp that followed, it all started becoming just a bit clearer. That was Snotlout. SNOTLOUT?? He really was there? Great. He'd been attacked by the one person he had been hoping to get rid of. Well, one of the people. The other, obviously, didn't need to be mentioned and had started Hiccup's journey to being a wizard by essentially kicking him out of the family. Hiccup's mind was in a haze of pain and confusion. What was Snotlout even doing there? Why was he like Astrid? More importantly, why was his cousin blaming him? It hadn't been his fault...
All at once, Hiccup found himself snapped out of his haze by Astrid touching his wound to try and help. Hiccup winced, gritting his teeth together to try and keep a hiss of pain from leaving him, and offered a very meek nod in response to her question. Slowly, carefully, he moved his hands away from his leg and brought one to his pants leg. He wanted to pull it back to get a better look at what damage Snotlout had done, but at the same time he was hesitant. The sight of blood, particularly his own, didn't exactly sit well with Hiccup. Yet there he was with his hands covered in it and his pants leg stained an ugly reddish brown color.
"Oh... yeah. I'm great. I just got attacked by my own cousin. I'm doing..." Hiccup winced again as he let pain sink in for a brief moment. "...Great." he finished. Yep. This was going to be a pain to explain to the other wizards and witches. They'd want to know what he was doing in werewolf territory on his own. Actually, he had initially come looking for Astrid to confide in her. Crazy though it sounded, Hiccup was beginning to think that maybe she was the only one that really listened to him. But, that didn't matter at the moment. Hiccup was more concerned with keeping himself alive at that moment in time. Choosing between a pile of leaves and a vest wasn't that hard to do. Coarse though the fur of his vest was, it would be better than leaves. So he removed his vest and, careful not to actually look at his own wound, he pressed it against his leg.
Gods... I hope Snotlout didn't actually intend on killing me. he thought bitterly.
Dumbfounded. That was a good word to describe Snotlout at that moment in time. He'd just been attacked by one of his own friends for doing something that he thought was good. As he stood there, glancing at his wounded shoulder and giving it a rueful sort of lick to try and settle his own pain, he tried to think about what just went down. Why wasn't Astrid happy? Hadn't she wanted to get back at Hiccup for what had happened? She'd been turned into a wolf! He'd been turned into a wolf! Shouldn't there be some cause for retribution? The blackish-brown bulky wolf rose to his paws again, licking his chops free of his cousin's blood, and frowned. "That little runt shouldn't even be alive right now. You don't just survive being banished. I'm pretty sure everybody assumed you were dead, Hiccup." Snotlout practically spat the name. Hatred built up from blaming the redhead for everything that had happened was evident in his blue eyes.
In all honesty, his dislike for Hiccup had been fairly mild up until that night everything changed. He'd tease and torment his pathetic cousin, but he'd never dreamed of killing him. Even if he did think he was the rightful one to lead Berk after Stoick croaked. But that had changed. He didn't necessarily want to kill Hiccup. No, Snotlout just wanted to bring harm to his cousin.
"But no. You beat the odds and survive." he growled. Normal family would have been happy. Stoick and Snotlout weren't normal family, though. No, Snotlout was beyond peeved that his cousin was alive and not suffering in the least for what had happened. Now Astrid appeared to be betraying him for Hiccup! Angered though he was, Snotlout was too much of an idiot to right out attack Astrid. Some part of his mind didn't want to forever shatter the bond he thought he had with her.
"Move, Astrid. I want to make him suffer." make him bleed. Tear him apart. Snotlout didn't care what he did. Blood lust appeared to be taking over his rational thought. Were he thinking clearly, he probably wouldn't have been coming off as completely hostile at that moment.

"Don't get smart with me Hiccup. As you can see I'm not the friendliest person today." Astrid's voice turned cold for that moment, but she didn't appear to have given it out as right out threat. Relief had washed over her after hearing the teen speak. It meant he was alive and though shaken, was doing fine for the moment. Of course he'd chosen to be sarcastic, which gave a great indication that Hiccup would pull through. Had he preached some heartfelt sincerity, Astrid might've been worried beyond belief. A simple thought crossed her mind, this was her territory, and Hiccup knew that. At least to some extent. He knew he'd find her in the same area, seeing as she wasn't willing to relinquish the hold she had on the piece of land that provided her food and shelter. Had he come to find her? Part of her was slightly confused, the other angry. Apparently the teen hadn't taken to much warning from the last time they met. " I warned you there are worse things in this forest than me." She whispered quietly. "Now see if there's a stick nearby, you need a tourniquet. Unless you've got better idea." The blonde's eyes darted wearily towards Snotlout. She wasn't changing into a human any time soon, or venturing off to find a stick. She didn't play fetch.
Swiveling on her heel Astrid bristled once more towards Snotlout. Eyes returned to small, angry dots, and ears pinned against her skull tightly. "He is alive, and I suggest if you want to continue being alive, you sit like a good boy." Astrid barked towards the male, taking a stiff step towards him. "And I swear to the gods if you try and make him suffer, for whatever the hell he did to you, I'll tear your bloody ear off. " The she-wolf snapped advancing another step to the male.
"And we all beat the odds. We all survived, and we're all not welcome back to Berk. As far as I know of." The canine continued, baring her white fangs at Snotlout. Astrid couldn't tell herself to make Snotlout leave. He was from Berk, and a werewolf, meaning she ran into him more than not. She didn't want to have to fight for territory or loose a though dumb, and hostile, friend. Though she meant her threat. She was a viking after all, and there was a specific stubborness to those in Berk. To her, that meant she wouldn't give up defending Hiccup anytime soon, nor would Snotlout give up his attempts at attacking the scrawny teen.
"And don't you think it's like attacking a Terrible Terror out of shots with a shield and axe, attacking Hiccup right now?" The blonde put bluntly, taking a step back and turning her head a bit to check on Hiccup's progress in finding a stick. She was no Hiccup or Gobber, and therefore could not magically make a contraption out of thin air. "You lost your tribe, your spot to being chief, friends, family, Snotlout, are you trying to get rid of your cousin too?" Astrid looked between the two boys.
"You've got some serious family issues."

Snotlout gave a snort. He did contemplate attacking Astrid just so he could get at Hiccup again, but after a moment her words sank in. Why did she always have to do that? Why did she always have to go and make sense on him? Snotlout dropped his hostile expression, but his eyes did still flicker with general dislike for Hiccup. He'd been hoping to do more harm to the redhead, but whatever damage he'd done to his leg would have to do.
Even though he hated to actually give up on his intention of hurting Hiccup more, he didn't want to actually tussle with Astrid at that moment. He knew a losing match when he saw one, and Astrid was easily the most skilled Viking of their group in terms of combat. Even if he did have bulk on his side, Astrid had agility and more experience with her wolf body. An unwise match up. So, reluctant though he was, Snotlout dropped down to a sit and let his tail curl over his paws. "Fine. I hate it when you go and make sense like that." Snotlout said.
"Though I'm still not happy he's here." Snotlout remarked. That went without saying, though. Snotlout had half a mind to interrogate Hiccup, namely to find out what the hell he was even doing in Astrid's territory, but he held his tongue. All things considered, Snotlout shouldn't have been in Astrid's territory either. He'd only come to initially hang out, but that had led to hunting and that had led to finding Hiccup. It had snowballed way beyond what the black-furred Viking had initially thought would be happening.
Wow. Snotlout backing down? I didn't think I'd see that happen. Hiccup thought. He was amazed, to say the least, that Snotlout had actually listened to reason. He would have thought a fight would break out between Astrid and him. But he had been disappointed. Well... not really. He was glad Astrid wasn't injured as well.
"Yeah... I noticed." came the bitter remark from Hiccup in regards to his family issues. First his father, now his cousin. What next? Spitelout, too? Hiccup didn't want to imagine that. Spitelout, although he was Hiccup's uncle, was like... one of Stoick's most trusted Vikings. Running into him would not be a good idea. Still, Astrid did have a point. Finding a stick would be beneficial. ...Wait. Was she expecting him to go out looking for a stick? Was she crazy?? Hiccup didn't even know if he could stand at that point in time! Finding a stick would be madness!
Thinking back to her remark about how there were more dangerous things in that area, Hiccup only gave a little nod. He remembered what she had said. He just didn't want to acknowledge that fact and had gone on instinct to come looking for her. He decided not to voice his thoughts on that matter, though. Instead he focused on looking around him for a stick so he wouldn't have to get up and look for one. But, unfortunately for him, there didn't appear to be any sticks at close range. "...I'm guessing you actually want me to get up and look for a stick." he said after a moment.

"I hate it when the two of you go an be idiots like today. I guess we're all disappointed, huh?" Astrid barked bitterly to Snotlout, before turning back to Hiccup, transforming into a human on the way. The girl pushed her bangs out of her eyes, only to have the blonde tendrils fall back into place. It seemed both a habit and a challenge to see if one day they'd stau in place. The one battle Astrid seemed to be losing at the moment. Astrid spoke over her should back to Snotlout over his unhappiness. "Do I look happy? Join the group of unhappy viking teens. It seemed to be getting bigger." Astrid walked by Hiccup and started forging around for a thick enough, long enough stick.
"Hiccup, if I was out to kill you, I'd have you walking around. But if you want to bleed out like a stuck pig, please, proceed to stand." Why did boys have to be so aggressive? And to some extent, extremely stupid. Astrid decided she had a handful, Hiccup in one hand, Snotlout in the other. Both not to fond of one another, as was evident by her search for the perfect stick. She'd collected a few in her arms that were nearby. She was never out of sight from the two boys, and never to far she couldn't pop into werewolf mode and take down Snotlout if he tried anything. The sticks were okay, and strong, which was good. Astrid continued back to the two, sitting down by Hiccup.
"Stay still. Don't kick me or I'll kill you myself." With that joyous bit of encouragement, Astrid picked a nice sized stick and rolled up Hiccup's pant leg to the knee. The blonde proceeded to put the stick on the side of Hiccup's leg and fold the vest into a bandage, tieing it tightly about his leg. It was crude contraption, but Astrid was no healer, and therefore that was her best handiwork. "Okay... well that looks.... better. " And that was as far as Astrid's plan had gone. Stop the bleeding... which wasn't exactly complete yet. So now what was she supposed it do? She really couldn't trust Snoutlout with his cousin. "Uhm... that's about how far I got to figuring out what to do with you two." Astrid said steadily. At least to fool Snotlout that she had things under complete control. Hiccup she supposed had some stupid or crazy idea or nothing. She'd stopped the fight (or more of a boulder falling on a twig), and gotten Hiccup's wound secure. What else was there for her to do?
So the girl sat. Looking between the two. "How's the leg? Astrid directed the question to Hiccup, and hand hovering over the wound in case the tourniquet needed an adjustment.

Snotlout would have loved to say something in response, but Astrid had begun working on the wound he had inflicted on his cousin. That figured. With no better ideas and no intention of interrupting the process, Snotlout appeared to give in and shifted back to his human form. He shot a glare at Hiccup, seeming to indicate that if the twiggy teen even dared to say anything he'd make things worse, and glanced at the injury as Astrid lifted Hiccup's pants leg to see it better. He had to admit, he was impressed with what he had done. It was better than what he thought he would have accomplished. But the dopiness the other Vikings were used to seemed to be setting back in, and he really had no remark for Astrid at that moment.
Hiccup, on the other hand, looked as if he was having to fight an internal battle. One part of him wanted to look and see how badly Snotlout had actually managed to damage him. On the other hand, the sane part of him screamed to just let Astrid do what she was doing. That side won out and he just put up with what was coming his way. He'd caught a quick glimpse of his wound, though, and winced visibly when he saw it. Snotlout had at least succeeded in wounding him deeply. By that point it felt as though there was a dragon or something trapped in the wound and it was begging to get out. At least, that's what the throbbing felt like on his end. The stinging was no better.
Hiccup wasn't really one to check how bad his own wounds were, having only received minor injuries in the past (aside from the one scar on his chin, but no one really knew how that one came to be), so he was clueless. "Aside from the fact that it's still there, along with a certain numbskull of a Viking-"
"I heard that!"
"Yeah? Well... well, I'm glad!" Hiccup finally snapped. Having apparently developed a tiny bit of a backbone, Hiccup was at least attempting to stand up to Snotlout at least a little bit. Pushing that thought aside and ignoring the dumbfounded look on Snotlout's face, though, Hiccup returned his attention to Astrid. "Anyway... the good news is it's still there. My leg, that is. The bad news? I'm having to put up with unimaginable pain and the fact that Snotlout is here. Not to mention the wondrous slobbery feeling that comes with being attacked by your wolfish cousin. Yeah, that's a great feeling." Hiccup said. His sarcasm seemed to be a defense mechanism by that point. The pain was evident and etched deep into his emerald eyes. He just chose to try and hide it in a different way than most would think to.
"Jeez, is sarcasm all he knows?" Snotlout grumbled. It at least meant that Hiccup was conscious. Or at least succeeding in keeping himself conscious.
"All I know is... this wasn't what I had in mind when I came out here." Hiccup finally said. Now the pain was really getting to him. He had to shake his head a tiny bit to keep himself focused on something beyond the pain. For once, Hiccup wished Gobber was there. Gobber, at least, knew a bit more about injuries than the trio of teens did. "Gods... this is going to be a..." another hiss of pain. It only then occurred to him that maybe continuing to apply pressure wasn't a good idea, and so he relaxed his grip just a little. "...a pain to explain when I... get back to the castle." he murmured. Gothel, needless to say, would not be pleased. He didn't imagine Rapunzel or the others would be pleased either.

"WILL BOTH OF YOU SHUT UP!" The female roared holding her hands to her temples. "It's hard to think of a way to not kill you," she pointed a finger to Snotlout, "and to not let you die." A finger was than directed towards Hiccup. The blonde took a shaky breathe and calmed herself. Slightly. "Snotlout help me lift Hiccup up. We're going to try and get him to the castle. I've seen it around, just on the edge of the territory. I don't want any vampires smelling him." Astrid grabbed Hiccup under the arms, and started walking, expecting Snotlout to pick up the slack or be left behind. After a while, the girl went into a dead sprint, jumping tree roots and dodging bushes. Her main focus at the moment was saving Hiccup. Accidently, in her desperation, Astrid transformed into a wolf, and felt her speed slightly increase. So, she went with it. How much more blood could Hiccup loose? Astrid was no small wolf by any means, so adjusted herself so that Hiccup's torso was over her back. "Sorry, bumpy ride. You'll live, I'm pretty sure." Astrid spoke through pants, her tongue lolling out to the side of her mouth as she increased her speed. She felt as if her paws barely touched the ground. Than, like a miracle, there was a break in the forest. Astrid surged out, and to interrupt the morning sunshine she'd expected, a towering castle stood erect and cold. It was the place. ---- Rapunzel had been in one of the castle's towers, staring gloomily out towards the wide expanse of a forest. The morning hadn't started out to well. Hiccup had gone and gotten frustrated after burning himself, and she'd failed at an attempt to get into someone's head. She was mentally exhausted at the moment, and her head was propped up on her arms. Than suddenly, 3 figures burst out of the forest. A low, mournful howl filled the air, chilling the blonde to the bone. Reacting swiftly, the girl ran down a flight of stares and through the kitchen, grabbing a frying pan for protections. In an instant, the girl was propelling out a window, riding the wave of her 70ft long golden locks. From there, bare feet were used to dash out across the courtyard into the soft grass outside the forest. What she saw, made the girl speed up. A blonde wolf had someone by the collar and seemed to by lieing him down. Another wolf was with them. Rapunzel squinted her eyes, wondering who had been unlucky enough to be caught by wolves. The blonde one had moved out of the way and was approaching her. Hiccup. Oh god Hiccup! HICCUP!! The golden haired teenager came barreling towards the blonde wolf swinging her frying pan, catching the blonde wolf by the shoulder and propelling her to the side. The long haired girl than proceeded to advance upon the dark brownish wolf, swinging the kitchen utensil in full fury. They killed Hiccup. Dear god they killed him! Was the only coherent thought going on in her head. Midswing, the blonde was forced backward onto her tushy. ----- "A friend of yours Hiccup?" Astrid growled, stepping off of the golden blonde's hair. Her shoulder was throbbing. Dear gods that had hurt! Rapunzel proceeded to look at the blonde wolf in disbelief, jaw slack open. Snotlout stared, once more dumbfounded by the situation at hand, as Astrid scooped up Hiccup like he was nothing and began to carry him away. Before Snotlout even had a chance to react, he saw Astrid getting further and further ahead of him. "Hey! Wait up!" Snotlout called. Much as he didn't want to help Hiccup after he had gone to the trouble of injuring him, he really had no choice in the matter. So, Snotlout rose from the ground and followed Astrid. Once she changed to wolf form and changed Hiccup's positioning, Snotlout had to follow suit. Once more the blackish-brown wolf appeared and he quickly ran after Astrid.
This is so stupid! I shouldn't be helping him! I should be-
Snotlout found himself cut off mid thought when they emerged from the forest and found themselves in front of a castle. The very same castle he had gotten a glimpse of before. This was where Hiccup lived? Lucky brat. he thought. He was about to try and help Astrid out, no less deterred by the fact that she was already laying Hiccup out on the ground, but suddenly... Rapunzel appeared and struck Astrid with a frying pan.
"Whoa, hey! Easy!" Snotlout barked. The golden-haired girl with the frying pan clearly wasn't too happy about the fact that a pair of werewolves were in her area and with Hiccup. He wondered if Rapunzel would even be able to figure out which of the two had injured the twiggy, redheaded Viking. There wasn't much time to wonder about it, though, as the blonde had turned her frying pan on him and was trying to strike him. Snotlout leaped to the side, narrowly avoiding being struck, and let his ears press back against his head. He had half a mind to try and do something against the blonde, but from the corner of his eye he spotted Hiccup pushing himself into a sitting position. What was that idiot doing?
----
The ride had gone from all right to bumpy beyond belief when Astrid shifted forms, and Hiccup had no say in the matter. He was just the injured ninny that Astrid was carrying along. Much as he wanted to protest against it, he found he couldn't. They were, at the very least, moving back to where he needed to be. As they emerged from the forest, Hiccup almost prepared to try and get off of Astrid's back (some sort of 'manly intuition' in the back of his mind said to be a man and limp on from there on his own), but things turned out differently than he had thought they would. Astrid had proceeded to lay him on the ground, and just as he was going to try and go through with his plan of being a 'man' and going into the castle by himself, Rapunzel appeared and attacked Astrid. Snotlout had already reacted, but now it was Hiccup's turn. He could at least confirm he was alive.
"Rapunzel... Rapunzel, calm down! I'm okay! ...Mostly." Hiccup said. The very fact that his vest was tied around his leg and there was a stick tied to it as well gave that much away. The pain still etched in his eyes should have been a good indicator as well to the fact that he was alive. Just in pain.
All thanks to my numbskull cousin. he thought bitterly. "These guys... I know them. From back home." Hiccup tried to explain. he didn't want to directly say anything about his injury. Snotlout was in enough trouble (with Hiccup, at least) without getting in trouble with Rapunzel just yet.

Rapunzel held a frying pan at arm's length, pivoting to face the two wolves, taking large gasps of air. The blonde wolf made no more attempt at attacking. And like the brown wolf said, Rapunzel took it easy, sinking to her knees by Hiccup, hands fluttering in the air. "From home? Wolves talk at your home? You come from a strange place Hiccup." The blonde gave light chit chat as she examined the amateur tourniquet. But the thing had somewhat served it's purpose. The blonde hadn't studied her healing spells recently, though she really should've. Today being a great example as to how procrastination was a big no no. "Hiccup, can you feel your leg? Can you wiggle your toes?" The blonde asked, keeping the tone of desperation from her voice, mustering a smooth, fake one in it's place.
Astrid hadn't thought of that. Oh gods... what if he lost the use of his leg?! Astrid moved a little closer, transforming into a human once more, and sitting by Hiccup. "And no we're not just wolves. Werewolves." Astrid said quietly, plopping down to observe what the other blonde was doing. Rapunzel was unwrapping the tourniquet, looking at the wound. "Healing incantation... uhm... uhm... OH OH!" Rapunzel began carefully wrapping her hair around Hiccup's leg. Astrid recoiled in disgust. Rapunzel took a steadying breath. Most of her healing powers came with her hair. Strange as it was, it was much more affective than without.
"Flower, Gleam and Glow, Let your power shine, Make the clock reverse, Bring back what once was mine. Heal what has been hurt, Change the fates design, Save what has been lost, Bring back what once was mine. What once was mine....." Astrid had felt the magic surge through her hair to the steady beat of the incantation.
Astrid eyes had widened at the mystical hair of the girl, it had glowed... The girl watched as Rapunzel carefully unwrapped the wound and scooted back to observe her handiwork. "That feel any better Hiccup?" She asked, thoroughly pleased. Her gaze became darker soon though.
"Who did that to you?"

"I... don't know. I hadn't much thought about trying to move it so much as being focused on the 'Oh, I am hurt. I am very much hurt' feeling." despite himself, Hiccup did offer a very slight laugh as he finished speaking. Trying to show he was in somewhat good spirits despite what had happened. Somewhat being the key word, of course. He'd been attacked by his cousin for reasons that seemed unknown.
He wanted to say more, but Rapunzel stopped him dead by unwrapping the makeshift tourniquet and wrapping her hair around his wound. It wasn't the latter that disgusted him so much as the former. It appeared evident that the redhead was a bit on the squeamish side, especially when it came to his own blood. Then Rapunzel began to sing. One eyebrow rose, but no words left Hiccup. He trusted that Rapunzel knew what she was doing. When it was over, the pain seemed to have vanished for the most part. What just happened?
For several moments, Hiccup didn't move. It wasn't that he was scared to. He just didn't quite know what had happened. Gingerly, he reached out his hand and touched where the injury had been. It appeared to have just... disappeared. The pain was gone! Well... mostly. For some reason or another, it still hurt a bit. Not so much as before, though. "It does feel better. Thanks." a relieved smile formed on the redhead's face. He at least wouldn't be losing that leg any time soon. Though it still hurt and felt a bit stiff. Limping wouldn't have surprised him.
The question of who had done that to him caused Hiccup to look a bit uneasy. The one who had done it was right there, looking rather surprised by what he had witnessed, and (if Hiccup was looking at it right) a tiny bit sheepish. Hiccup didn't expect Snotlout to just step forward and admit that he had attacked his own cousin, even if that was the truth. As Snotlout shifted back to his human form, Hiccup decided he would have to say it. Snotlout certainly wouldn't, and Hiccup wanted to get back at his cousin somehow for his attacking him. So... why not? "He did it." Hiccup replied at last, gesturing to Snotlout with one hand as he finished speaking.
All at once, Snotlout went from relaxed to mad all over again. That little rat! He'd given him away! Snotlout had half a mind to go right over to Hiccup and punch him in the face, but he held back. He'd have to wait for a more appropriate opportunity to exact his new desire for revenge on his cousin. "I had every reason to! It's your fault we ended up like this!" Snotlout snapped.
"Me? Snotlout, what the hell did I do?!" Hiccup demanded. That had been bothering Hiccup since the attack had happened. What did Snotlout think he had done?
"I don't know! But you started all of this when you got that ability to use fire. If that hadn't happened, Astrid wouldn't have gotten changed into a werewolf and neither would I! You rubbed your weirdness off on us! I'm sure of it!" Snotlout explained. It was a stupid reason, he probably should have realized, but that was how it had gone down in Snotlout's mind. Hiccup had crossed the border between weird and... whatever there was after weird, and somehow after he had been banished it had affected Astrid and he. That was how Snotlout saw it, at least.
A sort of 'What the hell are you talking about?' look crossed Hiccup's face, leaving him with his mouth open in an inaudible question and one hand still raised, before he let the expression drop and crossed his arms over his chest. So that was Snotlout's reason for attacking him? It had been his fault Astrid and Snotlout had changed? What a stupid reason! "You, my dear cousin, are an ignoramus." Hiccup said flatly.

Relief washed through Astrid, and she nodded her thanks to this mysterious Rapunzel. It was quite the magic to have been able to heal such a wound... and have the blood gone from her hair. Definitely magic. Than Hiccup sold out Snotlout, making things very interesting. Hiccup had developed more of a back bone than before. Snotlout gave one of the most idiotic reasons of a life time and Astrid facepalmed. Rapunzel on the other hand, swung out her frying pan. Not being a violent, person, the actions even surprised the girl who had the weapon. Astrid looked at the girl in surprise at first, but a slow smile spread on the viking's face.
Astrid than turned to Snotlout. "You know that makes no sense right? And weird isn't a disease." That's as far as Astrid's explanation went. Snotlout wouldn't care, hell she didn't know if he'd even listen or make sense of it. He probably still believed that Hiccup was the root of ill doings done to him. "And Hiccup, careful using big words. Don't want to set off smoke." Astrid smirked and leaned back onto her hands. The morning ordeal was over thank gods! Hiccup was no longer in danger of dieing. Mission accomplished.
---
Rapunzel gave Hiccup A warm smile, and nodded. "No problem, glad you got here in enough time for me to heal. But that was a deeeep wound." her eyes turned disapprovingly to Snotlout. "If you do this on a random basis out of idiotic ideas, what do you do when you two get along? Drop each other out of trees?" The blonde had the tone of all seriousness. She honestly wouldn't put it past either of them, especially this Snotlout character.

Even if Snotlout had wanted to counter Astrid's argument that his argument was stupid, he couldn't. It appeared his brain might have short circuited a bit in response to Hiccup calling him an ignoramus. What did that word mean, anyway? Snotlout struggled with trying to figure it out, but in the end his brain appeared to fry and he just grunted in frustration. "I don't know what that word means, but you're... you're a pinhead!" Snotlout retorted.
"You see? That's what I'm talking about." Hiccup muttered. That was the best Snotlout could come up with? Seriously? He really was an ignoramus. In response to Rapunzel's question, Hiccup just shook his head. "I didn't typically keep Snotlout in my company. He was too busy tormenting me most of the time. Even if I had been able to fit in, I wouldn't have wanted to hang out with him." Hiccup said. Well... okay, that was only partly true. He had wanted to be a part of the teen Viking group for ages. He'd just wanted to fit in. Was that so much to ask? "The long and the short of it is... we aren't on the best of terms." he said.
"You can say that again." Snotlout said flatly. Hiccup had been putting it lightly. Snotlout, Ruffnut, and Tuffnut had pretty much made it their job to make his life as rough as possible. It didn't help that Hiccup didn't already fit in to the society of Berk. But Snotlout had pleaded his case. Sort of. He had at least attempted to explain things from his point of view. Namely that he viewed it as Hiccup's fault, as stupid as that sounded. What more could he do? Attacking him again would only result in... well, his being attacked. Already suffering an injury from Astrid striking back at him had been enough for his tastes.
"So let me guess. Blondie here is... what, a friend of yours?" Snotlout asked. It appeared as though he was about to start mocking Hiccup. Him? With friends? That was a good one! Hiccup couldn't befriend a twig, much less an actual human being.
