(ooc: Horray for crappy titles. June 7th, open to Marina and Wilbur. If we decide that others can come in than we will let you know.)
The worst thing Wilbur had come to realize was that he was bored. Sure he could practice his magic but that involved working and paying attention. Not that he minded paying attention of course. But sometimes in the day, Gothel could get really really angry. He was going to try to stay out of her way at least for awhile. With nothing better to do, the boy trudged into the library. His eyes scaled the shelves of books.
The boy was not much of a bookworm but so far reading seemed like the only fun thing to do in this castle.

Marina, however, was far from bored. She enjoyed reading about her powers almost as much as practicing them. Okay...maybe she liked practicing better, but still. She liked to see what she's get to do once she mastered her element. She wanted to be as good as Gothel was, but that was going to take some serious work. Though it was nothing Marina couldn't handle. She was Marina after all.
She was halfway through a book on water magic when she felt another presence in the room. She looked up from her book for a split second to see a person walking down one f the isles, she couldn't quite make out who it was yet though.
"Hello? Who's there?" She asked.

Turning his eyes from the books, Wilbur peeked his head out from one of the isles. He remembered seeing her before. She was a water witch. At least that's what he hoped, Wilbur had gotten to know several of the witches around here but never gotten to learn their names.
"Uh...hi." he said giving Marina a small wave

The brunette woman waved back slightly. Hey, what are you doing in here, kid?" She asked questioningly. Far be it from her to interupt someone elses studying, but most kids she knew weren't all that interested in improving, and this kid didn't strike her as any exception. She remembered seeing him around the castle, but never spoke to him. Though why would she? She didn't exactly go out of her way to get to know people, especially not kids half her age.

"Uh, you know....studying...." he said in a rather bored tone as he picked up a book, and looked at the cover. "Studying about...unicorns." His eye twitched at the sight of the book. Just had to pick up the most girly subject in the library. "I figured, if there are dragons here i should know about unicorns too." He gave her a tiny smile, brown eyes slightly wide.
he wondered if she knew he was lying. She seemed smart so it might be true.

The witch raised an eyebrow at the boy. "Studying?" She said, obviously skeptic. Not so much the fact that he was studying (Well, kind of that too.), but what he was studying about. "About...Unicorns?" She asked her lips twisting into a slightly amused smirk. Though his explaination was believable she was still not willing to believe a teenaged boy was studying, and about unicorns at that.
"So...what are you really doing here?"

At least he had caught the small little smirk before shrugging his shoulders. "That obvious that i am not that into books?" he asked, slowly placing the book on the shelf he turned back to the woman. "I don't know, i didn't really feel like facing the midevil woman that is known as my "teacher." he air quoted it. "I came here to figure out what i wanted to do."
He shrugged. "So far, i just like being by myself, in case i do do something that screws up."

“What you wanted to do?” She asked. She wondered what that meant. There’s not much he could do in regards to his powers. They were there and they were presumably there to stay. Who knows, maybe they’d go away once their purpose was fulfilled, but she doubted it. And it was true that Gothel had a very…interesting way of teaching, but she meant well…hopefully.
“Screw up?” She asked. “Now why would you think you’d do that?” She asked.

Wilbur frowned. "Well, i never really can get a hang of my powers, i always end up messing up or getting into trouble." he replied. "Even though I'm a time-wizard its not easy to figure this out." he replied. "Plus it always happens, which kind of explains why i accidently caused a dinosaur to appear in my house."

“You know you shouldn’t be so down on yourself.” She said to him. “I know it seems helpless now, but you’ll get better.” When she first started magic she couldn’t even splash someone without drenching herself at the end, but she got better. “Magic is all about practice, kid. The more you practice the better you get. It’s a bit of a slow progress but you get there eventually.”
“A dinosaur, huh?” She asked. “Never heard that one before, but in a way it just shows how much potential you have. Imagine how powerful you’ll be when you control it.” She said

"Yeah?" he asked, his eyes brightening a bit, maybe if he learned how to control his powers better his mom would accept him again. He decided to keep that from the witch though. "I guess it would be pretty cool, Gothel says that time wizards have some great power in them. I could be like a super hero."
That was before he knew of witches of course. "I'm Wilbur, Wilbur Robinson."

"That's true." She said with a smile. "Among the most powerful wizards there are, if they study and get a good hold on their powers." She said. "Easy there, superman." She said with a laugh at his statement about being a superhero. "We've got a long way to go before we're superhero status." If they ever got there. She certainly doubted with all this tension between races they'd turn itno superheroes.
She pushed that thought into the back of her head. No need to worry about that right now. "I'm Marina." She said. "It's nice to meet you, Wilbur."

"Are you doubting my skills?" Wilbur pretended to look offended. He frowned at the mention of study. "That involves work, are you saying i have to work to be able to control these powers?" he sighed. "Oh well, guess i don't really have a choice."
Keep moving forward. That's what he always had to say to himself. "So, what kind of witch are you?"

"Not doubting..." She said. "Just being cautious. I'm not nearly where I'd like to be either, but we'll both get there with time." She said. She raised an eyebrow at him at his next statement. "It is a lost of hard work. Nobody ever said it would be easy, but greatness isn't achieved overnight." She said. "Think of your hero, the person you look up to. They didn't get to be that way without work, right?" She asked. The kid showed a lot of potential, more than that he made her laugh. And he seemed to be willing to do the work, just not exactly happy with it.
"Water." She said simply. "Not as fun as time, I'm sure but it get's the job done."

Wilbur thought about what she said. "My dad is my hero and i guess your right, he had to work really hard to get what he wanted." he replied. "Of course he wasn't a wizard, which would have made things a lot easier back home. But no, i got stuck with these powers." he shook his head before replying to the "fun as time" statement.
"Not really, you never know when dinosaurs or aliens would appear. Or even your future-self. Hasn't happened yet but believe me it could."
