(ooc: Same day as Sound the Drums of War. Open to Angels, their allies, Xia and Hiccup. Also, Giselle will be coming back in this thread. Heads up)
It had been a rough start to a very bad battle. Proteus had hoped that after this first battle, that the other races would see reason and one would in fact come clean about it. Unfortunately, fate was not in his favor. The boy in his arms clearly said so. The prince could feel the demon poison getting closer. He picked up his pace, hoping and praying that he wouldn't be too late to at least save the boy's life.

Ion was just beginning to relax. Having spent time with Genie, he had begun to think that things wouldn't be so bad. Maybe the battle wouldn't cost anyone their lives. Maybe he had been panicking for no reason. Yes... that had to be it. Ion had been worried over nothing. No one was going to be joining them as a result of this battle. No one would have...
Wait... footsteps?
Ion's head snapped up and he quickly glanced in the direction the footsteps were coming from. Had Proteus finally gotten back? There was only one way to find out. Ion got up from his spot and ran to meet up with the head angel. He was fully intent on asking how the battle had gone and whether or not there had been any serious injuries. The young adviser was obviously concerned with the safety of his leader. Just when Ion came within sight of Proteus, though, he came to a dead stop. There was a boy, a redheaded teen actually, unconscious in Proteus' arms and bleeding heavily from his left leg just below the knee. Said leg looked like it had been stabbed clean through, bone and all, and was horrifying to look at. Ion had never imagined he would see such an injury. On top of that, the teen didn't look well. Not at all. He looked horribly pale and there was sweat gathered around his forehead.
"Proteus! What... what happened??" Ion asked hastily. Instantly the younger angel's mind began to race with thoughts of concern. Fear was evident in his green eyes. Usually Ion was optimistic. Usually Ion didn't like to just assume the worst. This teen in Proteus' arms, though... he didn't look good. It was looking like they would have to work quickly to save his life.

Proteus turned to his advisor for a moment. "This boy has demon blood in his system and needs healing fast." he didn't want to worry the young boy but that would probably prove to be as impossible as convincing everyone to drop this war all together. "If i act quickly enough i might be able to stop the effects from attacking his heart, so there's a good chance i can save him."
A good chance. Not a 100 % like the leader wanted but it would have to do. "Are all the other angels accounted for?"

Ion gave a shaky nod in response to the question. "I believe so. The others are probably elsewhere at the moment." he said. Even though Proteus did sound sure of himself, Ion wasn't so positive. Demon blood wasn't just something one could brush off. Especially one as twiggy looking as this redhead with Proteus. And what about his leg? And his arm? Ion wondered. He'd only just noticed that Hiccup's right arm seemed to have been damaged somehow as well. But the bigger question was whether or not Proteus needed help with the process of removing the demon blood. Ion might not have been an expert, but he wanted to help if it was possible.
"Do... you need help? Is there anything I can do?" Ion asked. He sincerely hoped so. Even if it was just hoping that Proteus could save this boy then he would do it. He just didn't want to feel helpless right then.

Proteus sighed with relief, thankful for the offer of helping. He had never done this kind of thing before, he had learned that he could heal people with demon blood but never actually did it. "That would be much appericiated." he said before carrying Hiccup into the next room. "Could you help by finding an empty room here, and then possibly helping me heal him."
Demon blood was very bad in dealing with. Especially when it came to either hullicinations and the fevers. "Damn it, if only i had arrived sooner."

"My room." Ion said quickly. His room wasn't too far, and it was fairly spacious. The green-haired angel also didn't mind giving it up if it was to help an injured... soldier? Looking Hiccup over, Ion didn't quite know if soldier was the right term to use. But he had suffered a serious injury. That should have qualified him. "My room would be the closest one to here. We could use it. I don't mind giving it up to help." he said. The thought of just how taxing it might have been to rid a body of demon blood crossed his mind, and a brief look of uncertainty filtered through his emerald gaze. He had no idea of how it would work getting bad blood out of a body, but he was willing to try. He really had no choice. They had to try if they were going to save Hiccup's life.
Wizard. Judging from the ash built up on his hands, I'd say a fire elemental. Ion observed silently. Hiccup must have had a rough going out in that battle. Dealing with a wizard wasn't exactly the thing Ion had imagined himself doing that day, especially after he had gotten finished relaxing with Genie not that long ago, but there were some things that were more important than wondering how a wizard had ended up in a fight with a demon in the first place.
"And... you can count on me. I'll do what I can to help you." Ion said at length. He had to wonder how far away from Black Castle Hiccup had actually gotten before engaging the demon in battle. Had it been intentional? Or had it been an accident brought about from being at the wrong place at the wrong time?

Again, another sigh of relief. "Good. That makes things easier." the brown haired leader glanced down at the boy before turning back to Ion. "Lead the way." he replied. Proteus was sure that Ion's room wasn't too far ahead, and if stress wasn't eating at him he would have known where to go but as of right now. things were getting confusing and why did this place have to have so many rooms?

Wordlessly, Ion did indeed begin to lead the way. It was just a short walk, and he knew that, but imagining the stress Proteus must have been under to save a life made things just a bit more clear in Ion's mind. The stress must have made it difficult to even think straight. As Ion walked, he shook his head just a little. He had to do what he could to make this obviously stressful situation less so. Before long, the green-haired boy had found his room. It really was only a short walk down the hall from where they had been. He opened the door and motioned for Proteus to come inside with Hiccup. From there, he would allow for Hiccup to be laid out on his bed (cleaning the blood out of his sheets didn't seem like the biggest concern to Ion at the moment) so they could get started.
"How... far along do you think the demon blood's gotten?" Ion asked. With Hiccup's already thin features, the blood wouldn't have taken as long to work its way through his system. At least, that was what Ion thought. Somehow he didn't think Hiccup was in terrible danger just yet, but he didn't know it for certain. He'd only seen the faintest of movements from Hiccup. Vague twitches and the subtle rise and fall of his chest as he breathed. Not a lot of time to work with. Now Ion was beginning to feel the pressure.

"I don't know." Proteus said. "But what i do know is that i arrived too late to stop it." he placed the boy on the bed before closing the door. He didn't need anyone else to see this, unless they were well experienced. So far, Ion, and himself seemed to fit that much. "If we work fast though, we can at least save him."

This was bad. Very, very bad. If they didn't know how long they had, then how could they save the young wizard? Ion was trying his best not to appear panicked. It was much more difficult than it seemed, though. So far he was doing okay in that aspect of the situation. He hadn't lost it. That was what counted. It was what would help to save the wizard's life. From the corner of his eye, he saw Hiccup move slightly. A spasm, perhaps? Was he in pain? He had to have been if he had endured so much on the battlefield. Ion felt bad for the poor redhead. If only they had been able to do something sooner...
"Just tell me what to do, Proteus. I'll do whatever it takes." Ion said. Much to his everlasting delight, he'd succeeded in keeping his voice level. Calm. He needed that, as did Proteus, in the present situation. Just hang on, young solider. We're going to help you through this. Ion thought as his gaze drifted in Hiccup's direction again. "He doesn't deserve to join us... not this soon in his life." Ion murmured. Not like him. Hiccup didn't deserve the same fate Ion had met of dying so young.

"You remember that healing magic i taught you and the other angels awhile back?" Proteus asked, "That's what i need you to do, but keep his head cleared, With any luck i might be able to keep the demon poison from making him go insane." This was one of those times where he wished that he didn't have to be immuned to demon blood. He hated it.
"...Um...Mr. Proteus." the voice of Molly standing in the doorway startled him.
"Not now Molly." Proteus said.
"But there's-"
Proteus cut the girl off. "Not now Molly, Please." he turned back to Hiccup, this time clapping his hadns together until they were glowing a faint blue. "Please let this work."

Okay... okay, you can do this. Just stay focused.
Ion followed Proteus' lead, only offering a quick glance to Molly before focusing his attention on the aforementioned wizard again, and held out his hand to the unconscious boy as a glow resonated around his being. Ion wasn't sure what he was feeling at first. He almost felt like he was searching for something as his hand subconsciously moved closer to Hiccup's arm. Gentle fingers touched the redhead's left arm, and soon Ion felt himself going into a sort of trance. Almost as if he was connecting himself to Hiccup somehow. In fact, it was almost like he was becoming one with the wizard for a few moments.
I... I can't hear much of anything in here...
Ion realized how eerily still Hiccup seemed to be. His breath caught in his throat and it was almost as if he had frozen briefly. Were they too late? The answer came when the faint 'th-bmp' sound resonated in the green-haired angel's mind. A faint heartbeat. They still had time. Not a lot, but Ion felt as though they had something to work with at last. Though, in all honesty, Ion couldn't tell if it was working or not. He'd never tried to actually heal someone before. His glow seemed to be getting brighter, but he couldn't tell if it was having an effect on Hiccup or not.
As much as he hated to admit it, Ion was beginning to have his doubts. Hiccup's heartbeat wasn't increasing by that much, and he couldn't tell if any color had returned to the pale Viking or not. Please... please don't let him die, Yulia...
For several long moments, Ion remained silent. It was as if all his thoughts had been focused on healing this one wizard. A strange thought to process, really, given the fact that there must have been other casualties in the battle, but this was the one soldier Proteus had brought back. The one that needed them. He couldn't let him down, even if it seemed like they were doomed to fail. Try as Ion might, he couldn't determine if Hiccup was getting any better or not. It was looking like it was a lost cause.
"Proteus, I... I can't tell if it's working..." Ion finally said, finally giving in to the fear he was trying to hold off. No... no, they couldn't fail. They simply couldn't! Ion didn't want to have to welcome another young angel into the Kingdom. He wasn't ready to join them! He just couldn't be!
(ooc: Didn't want to completely heal Hiccup just yet. Don't want to leave Proteus out of the process completely. CX)

(ooc: too lazy to switch accounts)
Proteus sighed for a moment and released his hands. After a moment, he put his hand on the boy's chest. He could hear his heart beating. Normally. "It worked. Or at least most of it did." The leader sighed turning back to stare at Hiccup's legs. "I don't think we worked quick enough to save his leg though, whatever that demon did was really rough."
He should have gotten there sooner. No! he should have chased after that demon. "We should let him rest. Let's go see what a big fuss Molly was making earlier."

With the confirmation that the young wizard would live, Ion felt himself relax visibly. He felt bad about panicking, though. He had almost lost it completely and that would have been bad if he had been the only one working on the procedure. He wanted to apologize for almost making things worse by panicking, but he couldn't get the words out. He hadn't missed what Proteus had said about the fact that they probably couldn't save Hiccup's leg. Ion looked it over, cringing visibly at the sight of it, and finally gave a little nod. "I suppose you're right. We'll have to... do something about that leg later." Ion finally said. He hated knowing they couldn't do something to save the boy's leg, especially knowing he would have to adjust to a prosthetic, but there was nothing more they could do.
Ion stepped back and finally turned his attention to Molly. Admittedly, that was another reason he had partially been distracted. He wanted to know what she would have to say. "What did you want to tell us, Molly?" Ion asked.

Molly grabbed Proteus's arm. "You know that nympth you told me about. The one that died?" she asked. "The one that caused this war Wellshe'saliveandshe'shererightnow." the little girl was talking so fast that the leader couldn't keep up.
"Molly, slow down...I can't understand a single thing you are saying." Proteus said rubbing his temples. "Again, one more time."
The brown haired girl stopped and crossed her arms over her chest. "The nympth that got killed, Giselle, that's her name. She's here and alive."
