(ooc: June 1. For Gothel's students and other witches/wizards to meet and get to know one another. I will be bringing Gothel in sooner or later, but I want everyone to get a chance to meet first.)
It was crazy. Of all the things to happen to him, this had to be the strangest. Hiccup didn't even know how it happened. All he knew was that he had been banished from Berk and now had some magic at his disposal. At least, that's how it appeared. He didn't quite know what to make of the whole situation in all actuality. He couldn't even make himself have a repeat performance of his first usage of the fire in the first place. So, Hiccup had resorted to wandering through the castle in a vain attempt to make sense of the whole thing. His hands appeared to be covered in a bit of ash at the moment and his clothing looked a little scorched. All because he had been practicing... and failing at reproducing fire the same way he had done in the first place.
"I guess it's true what they say. Life really is random and unfair." Hiccup sighed. He proceeded to brush some of the ashes off of his hands and made a turn down the hallway, making his way toward the room that had been designated as a sort of lounge. He really didn't know if it was a lounge or not, but Hiccup wanted to take refuge there until he figured out what he was going to do with himself for the rest of the day. Practicing was right out. He didn't want to burn anything else, or himself, on accident again.
"Why me?" he wondered out loud as he walked into the room and proceeded to plop down on the nearest, comfiest looking chair. He didn't expect an answer. In fact, Hiccup expected to be ignored. He was always ignored back home. Why would it be any different here?

Rapunzel was aimlessly walking through the castle, bare feet and all. It was amazing, she'd built up such a tolerance to the flooring and all, she'd barely be surprised if a sharp thing poked her foot, or she stubbed her toe. It was kinda funny. Rapunzel was focusing her attention, trying to reach the elastic expanse of her magic to taste the 'spirits' of people as she liked to call it. To feel their intentions, black and white and numerous shades of grey. It was odd, and would make no sense to one without the same powers. Walking by in one of the halls by the student dubbed lounge. She felt a neutral grey on the tip of her mind, like a taste on the tip of your tongue. The grey was one of no or limited intentions, one of the medium varying shades of grey.
Rapunzel, the curious being she was, decided to investigate which one of Gothel's students were in her reach. She turned on her bare heel, and strode towards the opening, her golden locks following (as she was prone to leaving it loose most of the days, anyone who crossed by knew to step over it by now). Peering her head over into the room. There it was, the shade of grey intentions. The red head was slumped in a comfy chair. She waved by wiggling her fingers and stepping in, wide emerald eyes observing the distraught teen.
"Why you? Uhm... your magical?" She could only guess he was having second thoughts on his powers. She couldn't really imagine how it could effect an otherwise normal life. She'd seemed to have them from the start and could not comprehend that. "Or is special a better word?" She commented openly, striding and plopping down into a chair opposite the gangly teenage boy, cocking her head curiously. She was intrigued, she couldn't feel feelings, as feelings had a way of not being connected to the spirit. Feelings weren't moral, they were just that. Odd little intricacies protected by some amount of magic. Sure intentions and feelings appeared the same, bad intentions usually appeared with anger or bad feelings. But in something more complicated, like love or jealousy intentions where not connected. In love didn't necessarily mean pure intentions or any of the various shades of greys. Feelings were just one of those odd things. Intentions weren't black and white, they were as odd as feelings but more simplistic. Spirit magic was a trick business. Magic that was everything that wasn't yet was there.
"I guess it depends on what your asking and to whom." She continued snapping from the brief moment of contemplation and thoughts to voice more on topic thinking. Why him indeed. But why him for what?

"Huh?" Hiccup's emerald gaze just so happened to meet an equally emerald green gaze, that of a girl at least three years older than him. The first question that popped into his mind was who she was. He had never seen her before. Then again, the scrawny redhead had only been around the castle for a short while. Perhaps she had been there longer than him. The sheer fact that she had actually answered his somewhat rhetorical question surprised him. No one ever acknowledged him before. Hiccup did admit silently that it was a good feeling to be acknowledged, though. He wasn't being outright ignored anymore. Maybe being banished wasn't such a bad thing.
"Sorry... I didn't actually expect anyone to answer." Hiccup admitted. Where should he even begin? He could have gone into great detail about how everything in his life seemed to be pointing toward him being the biggest loser in the known universe, but in the end he decided against that. The simple answer would be the best, and that would be explaining in less detail. "I don't know. I guess I'm just wondering why the world suddenly decided 'Hey, Hiccup, you aren't a big enough freak. Let's give you random fire powers that you can never hope to replicate!' one night." Hiccup said. He hung his head and let a frustrated sort of sigh escape him. What was the point in having magic if he couldn't use it properly? Or at all.
"The short version is that I got banished from my village for proving I was even stranger than everyone thought. The longer version involves the whole history of my village and how I didn't fit in." he sighed. Explaining all of that would take forever. He knew that. Instead of doing that, he decided to skip it. It wouldn't be worth it trying to explain everything about killing dragons and the like. "I'll save you the sob story, though. No one wants to hear about that. Anyway... hi. I guess I should start with my name now that I've talked your ear off. My name's Hiccup." he said at last.

Wilbur had been trying to at least make several attempts at doing magic that wasn't to do with bringing mystical creatures into the castle. So far he had managed to do that without killing himself. Walking down the hall, he noticed two others? Newbies prehaps?
Hearing Hiccup's name he gave a smirk but decided to join the two. "Hey."

At the words 'I'll save you the sob story' Rapunzel leaned forward put her chin in her hand and blinked her wide emerald eyes as if saying 'go ahead if you want.' Though her eyes turned curious as he mentioned his powers made him a freak. Did that make her a freak? Was that how others would see her like how they saw Hiccup? She'd never been in other human contact besides that of Mother's students. Was that how they were seen? As freaks? "Well.. I'm Rapunzel, and you've barely said anything. Don't worry about it." Rapunzel gave a brief smile. She than turned to see a dark haired boy come in, and wiggled her fingers in the same greeting she'd given Hiccup.
"And well... you're not strange here. And you'll be able to do it. It takes practice. Took me my entire life so far!" She gave a nervous giggle continuing to 'comfort' Hiccup and beckoned the dark haired boy to take a seat. Rapunzel focused on this new dark haired boy, she hadn't controlled her powers enough to 'feel' thoughts but she could see the aura of intention. His was also in the grey shades, and it seemed it wasn't as light as Hiccup's intentions seemed to be. He had a mischievous feel, and Rapunzel made a note to watch his intentions just in case. It seemed she'd never see anyone with pure or truly dark intentions. But that was the human thing to do as humans were a complex creature, though animals, she found, were harder to read. Maybe because morals were an unknown matter in life or death?
"I've been here my entire life." She voiced randomly, deciding to give the two boys an idea of her past. There really wasn't much to it. She was a spirit witch and she lived here. There was little to really tell. She didn't mind all that much though, she'd had a comfy life, challenging with her powers, but easy enough. She'd failed to have to make decisions that would severely interfere with her life. She also had learned the life lessons that people could offer either. She was still young though, and things were still new, and it must have made up for something. She finally turned her attention back to the other boy. "And you're?"

"I'm Wilbur, Wilbur Robinson." he replied. "Though i am not sure if i could really be counted as a Robinson anymore." he meant to say it as a joke but it came out more truthful than he wanted. "I recently discovered that I'm a time wizard, at least that's what Gothel said i was." The boy gave a fake grin. "So, here I am."

"Tell that to my father." Hiccup murmured. His father had been so adamantly against his... being Hiccup that he had banished him. That had to mean he was some kind of freak, right? Well, Rapunzel didn't seem to think so. That did make Hiccup feel better. For once, Hiccup offered more of a smile than he normally would have, even throwing in a very soft laugh, and let his head raise up again. Rapunzel didn't seem so bad. ...Okay, she wasn't bad at all. Definitely a source of lightheartedness where Hiccup fell short of being one. He liked that, actually. Someone that wouldn't pick on him like so many others had, or just flat out avoid him like the others.
"Well, it's good to know I'm in good company here, then. Gothel said we were welcome here... I just didn't know how many of 'us' there were here, I guess." he said with a slight shrug. "It's weird. I go through my whole life being told to stay out of the way or told that no one wants me around, and then I find this place. How likely is that?" he asked. Not very likely in his eyes. He was just glad he had found a place where he was accepted. "By the way, it's good to meet you Rapunzel." he finally said.
At length, the redhead took notice of Wilbur's presence. Another wizard he hadn't met? That probably was the case. This boy appeared just a little bit younger than him. How many kids were randomly gaining powers, anyway? It seemed odd to Hiccup. "Well, hey there. We don't bite... you can hang with us." Hiccup said. Wilbur hadn't asked if he could, but Hiccup had decided to make the other boy feel more welcome.

The princess of the night had been wandering about the castle. For what reason? Probably to look into what humans had built, what different things there were, such things like that. The alicorn witch of the dark had heard voices. Probably humans, no doubt. Her dark cyan eyes flashed over towards the voices. She looked from side to side, sparkling sapphire bangs bouncing in her eye as she did so. Nobody else seemed to be around. Not even Gothel was there to possibly scold her. The ultramarine equine's periwinkle plated hooves clip-clopped the ground as she made her way to whoever it was that was speaking. Perhaps she could use whoever was there as a practice for her speech.
As suspected, humans were there. "Forgive... me, but whatever is it that you humans are doing? Is it tradition to gather 'round and speak to one another?" Princess Luna said as she stopped moving her plated hooves. Her mane and matching tail were still flowing as usual. Luna loved that about the falling portion of space. It made her... pretty, in the alicorn's opinion. Not tiny and bland, but tall, magnificent. Her mane didn't fall flat but flowed, rivaling her older sister's look. She still kept her tiara and necklace, sure, but those had been items that had seemed to grow onto her. Hopefully, she wouldn't get pestered about the cutie mark on her flank like she had by some of the first humans she met.
That was extremely awkward to talk about.

Turning his attention away from Wilbur, Hiccup found himself looking at someone quite... different. He hadn't even known there had been any hoofed animals about the castle. Her hoofs clopping against the stone flooring had given her away, but it still surprised Hiccup seeing her. Might as well make her feel welcome, too. Hiccup told himself. He offered a little shrug in response to her question. He had simply come to the supposed lounge to forget his troubles of trying to master his stupid element. In all honesty, Hiccup hadn't expected anyone to join him. "Well, I wouldn't say it's too out of the ordinary for people to get together and talk like this. I just didn't think it would happen since I thought I had the place to myself for the time being. Guess I was wrong." Hiccup explained with a very slight, somewhat uncertain laugh.
"You're welcome to join us too, if you like. The more the merrier, right?" Hiccup asked. Usually he would never find himself in the presence of so many people without someone glaring at him. That was what he had become accustomed to back home. Things were definitely different here, that much was certain.

"Indeed it is, young human." Luna responded. That's when it occurred to her. She couldn't go around calling him young human. Twig wouldn't be a very royal term to call him either. Sunshine mane wouldn't be a good name for the blonde female, and black swirly mane wasn't a great thing to call Wilbur. Princess Luna decided it would be best to introduce herself before the conversation went on further. Her volume went from a normal level to a bit more higher level in an instant.
"Princess Luna of Canterlot, princess of the night, witch of darkness, but all of... what's the term, all of you can refer to me as simply Luna. What title is it that I shall call each of thou- you?" The alicorn had to resist using the royal Canterlot voice as well as using her feathery wings to lift her into the air, adding emphasis to the introduction. She had to use a normal speaking voice, everyday speech, and keep from making a gargantuan introduction. The last time that happened, she struck fear into the hearts of many of her followers. She planned on not doing the same to those at the black castle.

A Princess? Well, that was certainly something Hiccup had not expected. He had to admit he was intrigued by the prospect of a creature like Luna being a Princess. However, he decided not to remark on that topic. It was probably more complicated than he was aware. Besides, she had asked for their names. True, she had used a way of speaking that seemed odd but she had gotten the general point across. Hiccup was beginning to feel more comfortable around everyone, now that he thought about it. Maybe this really wasn't so bad, after all.
"I'm Hiccup Horrendous Haddock III. But, you can just call me Hiccup. Everybody does. ...Or they would, if I knew more people. Good to meet you, Luna." Hiccup replied. Even he thought his longer name was strange. His father had never explained the origins. It had just... always been that way. It was an alliteration dream come true! How often did one come across someone with a full name that started with the same letter for each part? Not very often as far as Hiccup knew.

A princess? A horse was a princess? Wilbur would have considered this a dream if he hadn't been experience it, or it was someone's idea of a sick joke. Then again the idea of him being a wizard seemed like a sick joke as well. "Nice to meet you Princess." he said, the words felt weird on his tongue but he smiled.
Was she having problems with her magic? Did this creature even have magic? Rather than ask right away he decided to wait

Hiccup Horrendous Haddock III. Huh. Not a name you heard everyday. But, there were names such as Ditzy Doo which probably wouldn't be as bad as Hiccup. Or some other name. Hiccup seemed to be a fairly unusual name. And the only human to speak his name thus far. "Hiccup Haddock. Charmed to meet you." Luna said, hardly struggling with saying you instead of thou that time. A small smile went to him. Perhaps she could get along with the human. And now, instead of some unintentionally degrading name to call him by, she actually had a name. An entire name at that, though Luna was likely to shorten it to Hiccup Haddock, or even further to Hiccup.
Her dark cyan eyes peered over to a new speaker. One who had spoken to her as well, greeting her. It felt... odd. Odd to not have someone bow down to her, in fear or not. A feeling the princess was just going to have to accept. She shook her head gently to move strands of sparkling bangs from her vision. "It's wonderful to meet you as well, sir...?" Luna raised a sparkling periwinkle plated hoof creating a gesture as she held out the word sir, indicating that she had wanted to know what his name was. It was obvious to her that she was the eldest in that group. Perhaps the eldest of all the students. Maybe even outnumbering Gothel in age, though Luna would never know. How long was a human supposed to live for anyways? Luna was older than a millennium. She doubted anyone else was older.
The alicorn did notice that there was one member of the group left unspoken. Her mane, as Luna hadn't known it was called hair, was bright like the sunshine Celestia would rise each early dawn. Her eyebrows were soft, the color of dirt. Beneath them were eyes like emeralds, sparkling green. Luna had decided to await if she would take a turn in speaking while she compared each human to the other. Hiccup had hair that was much shorter than Rapunzel's that's color reminded Luna of bricks, with thick matching eyebrows. He shared emerald eyes. Then there was Wilbur. His hair black as a starless night and with a swirl, matching eyebrows, but unlike the last two humans, he had eyes that resembled tea. A warm cup of tea would brighten the morning or evening, depending on what tea drinking time Luna was in. Each human was a fair shade.
The ultramarine equine found it odd that none of them had colorful skin or hair, but said nothing on the matter. It must have been as unusual to her as she was to them anyways. The princess stood there, awaiting some sort of response from any of the trio in front of her. If someone spoke, she'd get an idea on who she'd be most likely to speak with continuously instead of basing that decision on appearances.

"Oh, I'm sorry." Wilbur said with a tiny smile. "I'm Wilbur Robinson. I'm a time wizard...or rather trying to be a time wizard." he rubbed the back of his neck nervously. "It's not going so well but...hey I am trying." he knew eventually that he would have to explain his story sometime and that was not going to be a comfortable situation for him to explain but he did enjoy the company of the three.
"So...are you a witch too?" he asked on instinct. He didn't mean to come off as rude but he wanted to ask.

Time wizard. Huh. Something she hadn't expected. Luna didn't make this thought vocal, however. Her dark cyan eyes rolled back to her head when he asked the question. "Yes. Any unicorn has the ability to use magic. We- I, on the other hoof, being an alicorn, naturally have a good source of magic. A unicorn has a source of magic, but it depends on if they embrace it. So, yes, we horned ponyfolk are considered witches where we- I'm from. Apparently, witches and wizards of sorcery skills aren't as accepted amongst humans from what I get an ear of." Princess Luna responded.
Her mane still flowing, she swished her head to remove her sparkling sapphire out of her face, though it had only been momentarily. "Tell me, Sir Robinson, Sir Haddock, and... Sunshine Mane, am I not correct on my knowing of humans? That wizards and witches are considered... taboo?" The princess had finally decided to let the female human in on the conversation, despite not actually knowing her name. She looked at her when she said Sunshine Mane, telling her that it was what she had to call her as she lacked a name to call her.
