With Katara getting thrown to the ground like a rag doll by releasing her brother, she let out a grunt of pain from hitting the ground. When she heard his question however, it didn't make sense to say magic in a sarcastic way. It had to be meant in a serious way nowadays. "Magic. Literally." she said in response to her brother. It was so... odd to see her brother as a wolf. Not as her brother, but as an untamed canine that was unpredictable. She put the top back on top the jar, letting out a deep sigh as she did so.
"I... guess you found out my secret." She bit her lip momentarily. How was Sokka going to react to his sister being a witch? Probably much worse than Katara did to him being a werewolf. That much was probably true.

The brown wolf stayed silent before slowly getting off of her. He stared at her long and hard, his mind ablazed with questions. How did she get here? Who is this Mother Gothel person that she seemed to be staying with? But, most of all, "How did it happen? The magic, I mean."

"The magic?" Katara pondered upon this question before remembering something that Sokka said. The meteors! The wolf attacked him around the time of the meteor shower! That was when everything went downhill. He went missing, Katara had to search for him, she found her own witch element, and the only thing out of the ordinary was those meteors. Katara snapped her fingers and looked right at her wolf brother.
"Meteors. It was the meteors. It had to be. I mean, when they came down, everything changed. You changed and went missing. I changed too. It must have been the meteor shower that caused... everything recent."

Sokka nodded. That made sense. He slowly padded over to her and sat besides her.
"If it wasn't for those meteors, we would both be home right now, wouldn't we?" His ears dropped and he hung his head. He might've been dead too, considering the wolf had him in a death grip. He looked over to his sister. "I missed you. Maybe I should have gone looking for the tribe, but I was kind of..... ashamed. I mean, look at me! I'm a guy that changes from wolf to human in a blink of an eye. I thought you all would just, I don't know, kick me out of the clan or something."

Katara stroked Sokka's head for a few moments to comfort him before replying. She glanced to the ground, thinking about what she could say. Touch was comforting, but words could be even more comforting as well from her experience. "If it wasn't for those meteors, then... maybe we would have never gotten out of the tribe. See the world a little bit." she said in response, hoping to comfort her older brother just a little bit. "Speaking of the tribe and clan, I'm sure they're worried for the both of us now. I'm sure I could go back with ease, but you? I'm sure you've got a wolf pack to follow around now. They might... wait. Why were you here in the first place? Because your pack sent you here?"
Katara removed her hand from stroking Sokka, brows narrowing to find an answer. There had to be a reason that her brother, a werewolf, had wandered his way to the castle of magic users. Not canine humans.

Sokka almost started to pant. Oh, how that felt good. He was able to restrain himself, but his tail started to wag. He looked at her. "What pack? The other guys like me are just a bunch of loners. I've only seen one case of a group and it was more like a duo. It was a guy and his adopted daughter. We just live in the same forest is all."
He gave an embarressed chuckle and brought up a paw to the top of his head to rub it. "I was a little hungry and smelled some meat coming from your kitchen. I quickly grabbed a drumstick and got out. Why?"
Then, his stomach rumbled again at the mention of food. "It's been a while since I've had something to eat. Seriously, I can't even catch a measly squirrel..."

He had no pack? Huh. Katara figured the werewolves would have banded together for strength. For the hunt. For the good of the species. Like their tribe, sticking together to provide. What was left of it anyways, after all, it was really just the children, elderly, and women that stuck around. She debated on asking about who these other werewolves were, but decided against asking that question. He may not have known any of the other lycans.
"I thought it may have been for some sort of spying technique was all. But seeing as how you don't really have anyone to give information to, that defeats the purpose of spying. Unless you wanted the information for yourself, but you're not really that kind of guy. Or... wolf." When the topic revolved around food, however, Katara changed the subject. With a sigh and a shake of her head, Katara began to speak again. "Sokka. You can change into a human, right? You could get a job, earn some money, buy some food in town. Or you could hunt as a human in the forest. Or I suppose you could sneak by every night and I could hand you some scraps, but that seems more of a last resort type of plan."

Really? She really had no clue about the town? He shook his head and gave a sigh. "Katara, if you go take a walk around town, you practically bump into about twelve people who hate magical creatures. They tolerate the witches and the wizards for some reason, but you can't go ten feet without seeing at least two demon hunters, one vampire hunter, and at least a thousand people with weapons who just want an excuse to hit something."
He sighed and layed down, his ears dropping as well as his tail. "If there was even a small hint of me being a werewolf, my head would be on somebody's wall as a trophy. Besides, do you know how hard it is changing back and forth? I can rarely do it more than once in the same day....."
He looked up at her. His sister had been given the cream of the crop it seemed. He wasn't jealous, but it did make him somewhat sad. He was just glad that she was safe. He would rahter have her be where she was right now than in his position.

Obviously not. I'm not a werewolf. Katara thought bitterly momentarily when she heard Sokka say it was difficult to switch back and forth. But she wasn't one to turn her back on someone in need. Especially if it was her brother. "Well, if you don't want to take the chance in town and can't stay human long enough to hunt like one, then tomorrow I'll save what I can for you. A dog- just a pet wolf really- usually eats two meals a day. So if you come by in the morning and at night should be enough to get you through. Breakfast and dinner. In between is when lunch is, and that's when it's most likely that you'll get caught. Some people sleep in and have something to do in the morning while they go to bed at night, obviously. If I can get up before everyone else and stay up later too, then I can give you enough to get through another day."
Katara couldn't help but feel guilt for her brother. He was stuck as a werewolf fighting for survival on his own while she, on the other hand, was learning to control her powers with others in a similar situation to her own.

A pet? A dog? He snorted in disdain. Was she serious or was she just trying to get a rise out of him? He glanced at her. She seemed sincere and beggers couldn't be choosers. But, she was talking about staying up late and waking up early just for him.... Who knew how long her days were.....
"Nah, I'm good. I was able to get myself by just fine before, I can keep doing it. What you need to focus on is worrying about how to control your magic." He put a paw on her knee in a comforting gesture. He looked up at her. She was his responsibility to protect, not the other way around.
(You want to bring in some other people?)

((Sure, other peeps could come in now I'd think.)) Sokka was a teenager. He was older than her, too. He probably could survive on his own just fine now that she thought about it. "Alright, if you say so, but feel free to come by without getting yourself stuck if you need a bite to eat. Got it? Don't go off and kill yourself over food." she said, staring right at Sokka to make sure he knew she was serious. She thought back about what he said about her magic.
"Control my magic. Yeah. That's why I'm here. When I couldn't find you, I came here and they took me in. We're supposed to be learning how to control our magic at this castle. What about you? Found any wolves you're willing to tag along with for the long run for some help?" Katara desperately hoped that nobody was going to find them. How was she going to explain talking to a werewolf? Not to mention she'd have to explain the gate too.

Sokka shook his wolfy head. "Not really. I've met some of them, but I'm going to stay on my own for now, I don't really see any other way."
His wet nose sniffed in the air, drawing in the scent of someone. It was unfamiliar, so he hoped that it was friendly or he would have to run. And, considering that his escape route was blocked by that big gate, he was trapped. "Some one's here."
----
THe clicking of a wooden staff on tiles drew the attention as a blind hermit made his way around a corner. He stopped as the shadows showed him briefly a girl and some kind of animal right there. Better to play dumb and be the blind one for now. Garrett moved his head in different directions, hoping to fool the other magic user. "Hello? Who's there?"

Just what was needed. Some wizard that was walking outside. Perfect. Katara's heart pounded as the water witch flung her head in the direction that Garrett was coming from. Panic. She felt nothing but absolute panic. Should she lie to the wizard? Say that she captured Sokka? Say that she just found him there? There seemed to be nothing that she could do if he came close. However, it appeared he seemed to be blind.
Or had poor eyesight. Either way, it seemed that Katara had her loophole to get her brother from getting caught. "Sokka. I don't think his sight is great. If you can find somewhere- anywhere to hide yourself here... wait. If his sight isn't great, then you can just keep quiet." Katara whispered to her brother.

Sokka nodded. He just sat there, deathly still.
---
Garrett waved his hand in front of him, as if he were looking for someone. "I know that someone's there. I may be blind, but I'm not deaf. And who's this Sokka?"
The dark wizard gave a small smirk that couldn't be seen in the darkness. This was too funny, watching one of the other pupils squirm. He walked forward. "And is that smell of wet dog?"

"It's... my prisoner. He was talking so much, I had to get him to shut up. I attempted to possibly drown him earlier, but I realized that he might actually be useful for us." Katara said, hoping that the wizard would believe her. "I've nicknamed him Sokka after my brother since he talked so much. I don't actually care much for his real name. Us magic users don't need real names, right? We don't need to lower ourselves to the demon standards by slaughtering victims of the meteors. Victims not as fortunate at us. I've got him covered, so you can go back to whatever you were doing."
Her heart was still racing. Would he believe it and walk away? She hoped so. She hoped he'd just walk away and forget about ever seeing the prisoner. She hoped that Gothel wouldn't come out of the castle. Oh dear spirits above, if Gothel saw Sokka, what was she going to do? Stab him with a knife? She had good eyesight, Katara was sure of it.
