Rapunzel smiled at Hiccup. "You're an evil mastermind, you know that?" She joked, giving him a small push with her elbow. "And yup. Secret pet, human dude... At least if your dad found out he wouldn't kick the living stuffing out of you and use every bit of magic he knew to ground you..." Rapunzel rolled her eyes. Gothel couldn't and would never find out. If she did... Three people would be in some HUGE trouble. Rapunzel would know she'd probably be officially banned from the outside world. Seeing that as of now, it was her choice influenced by Gothel's decision that she remained near the castle at all times. She still was curious of the outside world but a hidden fear and the complications her hair would give... it gave the blonde an excuse other than the property of her hair. The one that was able to keep one forever young... At least she assumed it was her hair seeing as no other healing which appeared to have such power.
Rapunzel bit her lip nervously as Hiccup continued to talk. Partially afraid the brunette would remember... and afraid he wouldn't. "At least he's more comfortable..." Rapunzel slid a pillow under her head... as if that helped. The thief would probably have a major headache as well as two lovely bumps/knots on his pretty-boy head. And they wouldn't be small ones. Frying pans were painful. "If he doesn't remember... yeah I guess it'd be kinda cool. It'd probably drive him crazy not knowing. If he does he's going to be piiissseeeddd!!" She looked between the two as Hiccup mentioned his apparent cousin. "Yeah, one less werewolf trying to kill a Hiccup, though I don't think he'll be too happy about being captured." Rapunzel nodded. At Hiccup's suggestion, the blonde nodded eagerly.
Rapunzel than proceeded to tie him up, using the frying pan again to get around him. Like a spider ties up its prey in a cocoon, Rapunzel did something similar, just tied his hands separately and gave him the use of his hands... with her hair. There wasn't anything else to use!!!
"And yeah, I'm pretty sure there's no way he'd get away without one of us knowing. I mean our rooms are close, and if we have too we can camp out in the tower. Wolfie here just tied up and in another room. " Rapunzel nodded, new plans coming to her head. It seemed okay, its not like Mother would wonder. Rapunzel looked down at the thief and back to Hiccup.
"So... do we wake him up... or wait?"

But what if he tries to get away? Or worse, what if he unties his bounds somehow?
Hiccup did feel like asking these questions out loud, but for the time being it appeared the two of them had things under control. What was the worst that could possibly happen, anyway? Flynn turning into a werewolf and escaping that way? Unlikely. Hiccup doubted it would actually happen. He was really beginning to love the idea of keeping this werewolf hostage. Especially after he had poked fun at him so much. Hiccup liked to consider what they were doing a sort of revenge tactic. It was sweet, sweet revenge, too. The question of whether or not they should let him wake up on his own brought a broad yet devious grin to the young Viking's face. He had an idea.
"I think we should wake him now. Tell him the good news that he's our pet. As for how we go about doing so... just leave that to me." Hiccup said as he got to his feet again. He hobbled back over to where Flynn lay, his devious grin never once wavering, and finally stopped when he was standing beside the knocked out thief. He had positioned himself so that he was on Flynn's right side. He carefully lowered himself to the ground and quickly looked up to his friend before looking at the unconscious thief again. That devious grin on Hiccup's face still hadn't budged.
Hiccup had never tried what he was about to do before, but he had heard of a time when Tuffnut had done so to Ruffnut. If it had worked on the twins, then who was to say that Hiccup couldn't pull it off? Slowly, carefully, Hiccup extended one finger on his left hand and proceeded to wet it. He shuddered a little as he brought his finger out of his mouth, spit glistening on it appearing rather gross to the Viking, but shook his head a little and looked back to Flynn. This would be so worth it. He carefully brought his finger toward Flynn's ear, and before long he succeeded in inserting the spit-covered finger inside the thief's ear.
Suddenly, Flynn's eyes opened. It appeared as though the wet willie had had the desired effect. Flynn, of course, did take notice of the fact that he wasn't on his face anymore, but what alarmed him was the sudden wet feeling in his ear. Brown eyes darted around as he tried to find the source of the wetness before finally falling on Hiccup. The smug look on the young Viking's face pretty much summed up what had happened.
"Oh, that is GROSS!"

Rapunzel watched Hiccup warily. It was rare for such a devious, evil smile to reach the red headed viking. It was humorous, even if a tad scary. The blonde's eyebrows raised as she watched the boy hobble to the unconscious thief. What unspeakable evil could the scrawny teen be plotting? As he came to the thief's side, the devious grin was still in place. Sinister, very sinister. Never once did it waver into clear uncertainty. Had Rapunzel not been overwhelmed by curiosity she was sure a chill would've run down her spine. The teen brought a finger to his mouth... Oh. Rapunzel's face turned into an O, as she watched the wet whilly proceed. When the finger entered the thief's ear, Rapunzel wasn't sure if she should laugh or be appalled.
Than the thief woke up, the smug look on his face. The seeming horror of the thief sent Rapunzel over her chair in a fit of laughter. "EWWW" She managed to choke out before her abdomen continued to clutch her insides spasmodically. Her face was turning a rosy red as she gasped for air, one arm clutching her side. Her other hand was busy trying to cover her face, as if embarrassed by the loud laughter or how one hand in a cupped stop shape might halt the laughter.
Eventually though, the girl's side had taken too much and was sore from the spazzing and she was able to push her self up. Taking to shaky breaths, her face no flushed, she brought both her hand and brushed her hair back, one hand staying at the nape of her neck. Her head was shaking slowly at Hiccup a smile still stupidly plastered on her face. "Hiccup you are evil. It's kinda scary." The girl teased looking between scrawny redhead viking and thief. Rapunzel took a few more breaths and collected herself, using the chair to haul herself up.
Rapunzel than straightened out as if with great dignity and importance. Lifting her chin slightly, and than looking at Flynn, Rapunzel opened her mouth to speak. "While you were... sleeping... unconscious, Hiccup and I discussed what we were going to do with you," she paused, gouging Flynn's reaction. "You will remain her as our hostage until we decide further as to what we'll do with you," she spoke clearly, looking between Hiccup and the thief wrapped in her hair. He probably wouldn't react to happily. Afterall he had made his intentions of being let free known. Smolder or not though, he wasn't changing their mind.
I hope he doesn't try something stupid...

Okay, I totally take it back. Twiggy kids can be devious, too.
The laughter was not appreciated, that much Flynn could say for certain. It didn't help that Hiccup had actually joined in and doubled over on his back with laughter. The only thing Flynn could do was continue to complain about how gross the whole thing had been while using his shoulder to try and dry off his ear. It wasn't working out too well. All he had succeeded in doing was smudging his vest with the Viking's spit. GROSS!
"I... I've always w-wanted to... to try that!" Hiccup managed to get words through his laughter.
Flynn just rolled his eyes. Evidently the kid had never had much of an opportunity to do something like that. Even Flynn had done that at least once in his life. It was back when he was in the orphanage still, but it had happened regardless.
Finally registering Rapunzel's words, Flynn glanced down at his hands. They were tied up with Rapunzel's hair. One brown eyebrow rose in confusion while the other stayed in a sort of disapproving position. "Yeah... I don't really think this is going to work out exactly how you and Twiggy here are planning. I don't intend on staying here." Flynn said. He successfully pushed himself into a sitting position once more, never saying a word about the pillow he had been resting on (which, really, did seem to take away some of his manly pride), and frowned firmly. No one kept Flynn Rider in one place. No one.
Brown eyes went from Rapunzel to the floor and then to the window. He wondered for a moment if he could just get his hands untied and make a break for it. Probably not. He'd have to jump and that certainly wouldn't end well. But what about using Rapunzel's hair as a means of escape...?
Don't try it yet. Wait and see what they do first.
"So, unless you intend on having your so-called Viking friend wet willie me to death and I'm really supposed to take this being tied up by hair seriously... we're going to have a problem."

Rapunzel smiled shaking her head, teasingly at Hiccup. She'd never performed a wet willie and was less than eager to try. Though as Flynn started talking, her mouth became a thin line with the evidence of a jutted out bottom lip, in clear defiance of whatever the thief planned on saying. The man was contradicting their plan. Like he was in any position to disagree or threaten. Rapunzel's face clearly showed that idea, forming in her head. "I'm sorry Flynn Rider," the girl continued. "But you're the one tied in hair and have no means to be threatening anyone," she ignored the we willie remark. The girl's face was serious as she continued to look at Flynn.
"And I think you have any means to cause your supposed problems." The girl was stubborn. Very stubborn. "And I don't believe any of us intended your extended stay. Did the crime, do the time." Rapunzel shrugged. She'd missed the look Flynn had made, making connections and an escape plan. Rapunzel twirled her frying pan absently, looking around the room. She was thinking of how she was going to keep the thief there without her hair to hold him up. They'd have to trust him, an idea she didn't particularly like.
This is a dumb idea Rapunzel!! Her thoughts pleaded. Of course it was dumb, but anything that involved secrets from parents was. Mostly. Secret pet or secret prisoner, what was the difference? They were eliminating the threat of impending burglaries across the forest and tower without raising the death toll. That was good, right?
"And I fully intend on keeping you from harming or stealing from any other poor souls." Rapunzel stated, tone adamant in her decision. She hadn't realized the thief had or was concocting his escape plan. Nor that she might be apart of it. She'd always thought if he'd try to escape it'd be by the means of how he came. Blonde witch stood before the thief, arm's crossed. Body language and voice, she implied the seriousness of it all. Sure she and Hiccup had just been laughing... but that was beside the point. There was much more to be done in Flynn's capture. Rapunzel didn't necessarily think werewolves as bad, but she was unsure if any of the packs owed their allegiance to those other than witches and wizards. If they did, Rapunzel had just increased the odds of her race's survival. If only by a small amount. Unless this Flynn was a cold blooded killer. Someone he didn't appear to be no matter his cocky attitude or thieving personality.

"I could always turn into a wolf, you know." Flynn pointed out. He wasn't abandoning that option, either. It was still a viable option as far as he was concerned. Granted, there was the problem of being tied up in hair. That fact was going to prove to be very bothersome. It was true he could always try and attack them. After all, he had the advantage of teeth and brute force. But they had a frying pan and... whatever Hiccup's powers were. Twigginess was looking like it was his power. Seriously, how could such a stick of a kid be considered threatening? Flynn was more amused by the fact that at that moment Hiccup was trying to appear serious as well. It just looked doofy coming from him. Especially with one arm in a sling while the other was resting against it in front of his chest.
Even if Flynn did want to attack them, though, something inside him prevented him from doing so. All his life as a thief, Flynn had never been able to actually try and kill someone willingly. He'd always been about running away if he potentially could have been caught. This time, though, he found himself in a situation where he had been caught. He had to think very carefully if he was going to go through with his idea of trying to make a break for it?
"...Okay, what if I told you that if you let me go, I won't change form and I won't try to run?" Flynn finally asked. A little bit of a lie there, since he did plan on making a break for it, but what they didn't know wouldn't hurt them. Yet.

Rapunzel kept her poker face on. "And what? Jump out a window to your doom? Use candlesticks to propel down the tower side, or trip down the staircase until my Mother realizes Hiccup and I are missing. Knowing my habits of coming to the tower. The probability being she makes it to the outside of the tower as you break through the door at the bottom, bloody." Did it make sense and was there a high probability of any of that happening? What the thief didn't know wouldn't hurt him. Though at least a few of those explanations seemed to work. After all if he opted for the staircase, he'd probably try to run down them. With a tall staircase like the tower's well he had a high chance of falling by the use of his own momentum and the small steps. Rapunzel poked a finger at Hiccup as well. "He might look small but he's a wizard and its no small magic either." Maybe Rapunzel's powers weren't as useful in offensive cases, but she knew some in other fields of magic. Gothel had wanted her to study up.
"And what would you do? Kill us. You're a thief, not a murderer." Rapunzel replied with certainty. Though, she really wasn't all that certain. For all she knew, he was a cold blooded killer, though he might try to get out of a situation before resulting to murder. It went to show how much a little bluff could get someone. Rapunzel, feeling she had the upper hand, was a little more confident in hers. Not like he had any means of knowing the castle schedule or how everything worked around here. He barely knew more about Rapunzel and Hiccup than their names. Rapunzel's eyes narrowed suspiciously at Flynn.
"What if I told you the word of a thief means nothing?" was Rapunzel trying to play hard/bad cop? Yes. If only to mask the fear and nervousness she truly was feeling. She was trying her best to act serious and fearsome. Whether it worked or not, was on the hostage. Her emerald eyes though, sought the emerald orbs of Hiccup, as if asking, if it was reasonable. She couldn't trust the thief. He was a thief, he couldn't be trusted or let free... right?

"Oh, yeah. Like I'm really going to be afraid of Twiggy McWimpy there." Flynn scoffed. Wizard or not, Flynn didn't view Hiccup as all that threatening. He certainly didn't look like he was with that sling, his twigginess, and lack of a weapon. Then again, Flynn didn't have one either beyond his wolf form. Still, he could bluff just as much as they could. Even if he wasn't willing to try and kill a fellow human. Attacking was one thing, especially in self defense, but killing was something else entirely. "I mean, what's he going to do? Glare at me until I collapse into a puddle of kind-of-sort-of-not-aliveish-ness?" Flynn asked.
Hiccup didn't seem to take too kindly to the insult. Obviously not. Who would, anyway? Someone completely stupid, he guessed. But Hiccup wasn't stupid. He knew when he was being insulted, and this thief was doing that. He'd moved his good hand away from the rest of his body and was indeed sending a nasty glare in Flynn's general direction. He also was working on making a little ember appear in his hand. It wasn't particularly threatening, but it was the most he could muster since he was still recovering a lot of his strength from the battle.
"I could do that. Or I could... could..." Hiccup found himself faltering a little. His fire wasn't nearly controlled enough to use as a threat, but he could make it appear so. "I could burn that smirk right off your face." Hiccup finally said. His ember seemed to grow just a bit more at that idea, but it still didn't appear terribly threatening. It died just as quickly as it had grown, though, when he caught sight of the questioning look from Rapunzel. He was of the opinion that they couldn't trust him enough to let him free. Especially since he was a werewolf. "And we're not letting you go anywhere." Hiccup stated.
Flynn looked between Hiccup and Rapunzel, a tiny bit of fear actually flickering through his eyes for a brief moment when he caught sight of Hiccup's flame, before beginning to try and decide what to do. Now he really was trapped. A wizard gifted with fire was definitely something he hadn't considered. Of course he hadn't caught on to Hiccup's own bluff, namely that his fire was about as controlled as a volcano most of the time, but that was beside the point.
"All right, all right... cool your jets there, Twi... Hiccup." Flynn said in an attempt to try and win the two over in his favor. He had to do something to win them over. Make them trust him. If he could do that, then he could try to break away. "Heh... looks like I'm literally going out of the frying pan and into the fire here." Flynn joked. Going from being hit on the head twice with a frying pan to being threatened to some degree by a fire wizard certainly made for an interesting day. "I guess I've got about as much choice as a caged canary..."
Caged canary?
Flynn wondered something for a moment as his sentence hung in the air. Rapunzel seemed like she had pretty much been kept in the same place for all her life. Did she even know what was beyond the safety of the castle? Maybe this wouldn't be so bad after all. Maybe he did have the right fodder to convince the two to let him go. "...Unless, of course, you'd maybe like to see what's beyond the castle?"

Rapunzel looked at the thief in cool amusement as he appeared... afraid? If only for a moment by Hiccup. The tables had turned, though Rapunzel was the only other one in that room who knew that the only way Hiccup could hurt Flynn was if the viking got very angry and happened to have his hand pointed in Flynn's direction. Though it was slightly amusing to see Flynn's little intimidation tactics change. He appeared to be trying to subtly make amends with the fire wizard. Starting with using his actual name.
Rapunzel tried to hide the amused smile as Flynn made the frying pan remark. He wasn't dumb, that was for sure. Had he been faced with anyone else beside the two or Gothel, he might've had a chance of getting away. His luck had seemingly swayed though, throwing him into the frying pan with the fire right next to it. His analogies or metaphors, whatever they were, were interesting. Though he probably wasn't thoroughly educated, he was a smart man. It seemed to go with being a thief, cunning and smart went hand in hand. Their only difference being as how they were used. The man, he was cunning. Rapunzel had thought she had the upper hand. She had too, he was a hostage and she was... the hostage holder? Her stomach dropped though, and her heart went in her throat. Damn cunning man!
"...Unless, of course, you'd maybe like to see what's beyond the castle?" She had to have been a big mouth. She had to have been that obvious, awkward, always inside girl. Didn't she? Rapunzel looked to Hiccup, and sucked in a deep breath.
"Hic-Hiccup can always take me outside." She tried not to stutter, taking another deep breath. Hiccup probably couldn't take her, he went out by himself alright and he was her best friend...but a physically impaired viking with little control of fire magic and a witch with 70ft of blonde hair and little to no offensive or defensive magic didn't necessarily make a good duo. She did have her suspicions, thought they were mostly confirmed, that Hiccup spent his time in the forest with that other blonde werewolf, not so much his cousin. "And... even so... th-the castle's fine. It's got books and I've got the tower... and stuff."
Rapunzel had come up with such a great argument. Defended herself from the temptation of accepting the tricky man's offer. Had she really? No. Was she trying to convince herself? Certainly. Could her guise be seen through? Probably. She knew she should listen to Hiccup. She could trust Hiccup and he was the one who was probably keeping a level head in the matter. He'd already said no to letting the thief out of his hair bonds. She really should listen to him. Though if she said she wasn't tempted, she'd be lying.

"Oh, come on. Haven't you ever wondered what was out there? Beyond the walls?" Flynn asked. She had stammered. That seemed to give him a bit of an edge. A bit of an opportunity to return to that smooth thief he was known as had returned, and dammit he was going to take it! He could see Hiccup's flame dying completely from the corner of his eye. Good. Now he wouldn't have to worry about being burnt. "Trust me, I know my way around. I could show you all sorts of places. All you'd have to do is untie me, and we'd be on our way." Flynn said.
Hiccup didn't look nearly as trusting of the idea as Flynn was hoping Rapunzel would be. Even if he were, he wasn't supposed to leave the castle. He was grounded for a few more days at least. If he weren't grounded and if he weren't so focused on trying to locate Astrid... well, he probably would have tried to take Rapunzel out himself. But the problem with that plan was his lack of control of his powers (he was beginning to notice his emotions seemed to have some sort of tie to them, though) and Rapunzel's lack of defenses beyond her frying pan. He didn't like where Flynn was going with this idea. What if he tried to wriggle his way out of showing Rapunzel around and just bolted?
"This doesn't sound like a good idea." Hiccup tried to reason.
"Oh, relax Hiccup. It'll be fine. All you two need to do is untie me. From there, we leave the tower and I show Blo... Rapunzel around the areas outside the castle. We'd be back before anyone even missed us." Flynn said. He was hoping his charm would work out this time. Surely his reasoning would win Rapunzel over this time. If it did, then he would be home free. All he would have to do would be make a break for it, somehow grab on to the blonde's hair before she could work out what was happening, and propel himself out the window with it. So simple and easy he didn't know why he hadn't thought of it in the first place. "So, what do you say? Think you'd be up for a little adventure out there?" he asked.

Of course she wondered! She was always just so afraid of what the world might hand her way. Tress snagging her hair, tripping, falling... other werewolves... She so wanted to believe the man was telling the truth. It was evident in her body language, and the way she stared conflict clear in her eyes, out the window. Rapunzel did snap into attention as the thief asked her to trust him. Uncertainty flashed on her face. He'd given her no reason to not trust him. He'd told her the truth when she first interrogated him. At least she'd hoped he had.
This time though, the thief had not only brought charm to the battle, he was being fairly reasonable. Except the trust issues. Another uncertain look to Hiccup. Hiccup was reasoning with her, Flynn was reasoning with her. Flynn was probably winning out. It was like taking that secret pet on the walk. Though in the end, the one who'd taken the pet always ended up losing it. It wouldn't be her surely! She was much to careful... But in her carefulness, was her weakness. She'd never gone to the forest, and here was this man offering his service as a guide. Was he really to be trusted? Probably not. Yet, there was that temptation.
Hiccup had probably saw it coming, after all he'd tried to reason with Rapunzel. A clear sign she'd been in thought. Sending a sort of 'I'm sorry Hiccup' glance at the boy, the girl moved cautiously to the thief. She started unbinding his arms first, before moving to the hands.
"I mean.. I could get a head start if he tries to run... Super long hair has its uses." The girl muttered uncertainly, clearly not pleased yet excited with her own actions. Would she seriously be getting out of the castle for once? It was a faint hope, surrounded by the uncertainty that was the thief. Part of, the more reasonable part was telling her of how much of a bad idea this was. How it could only end up badly. The other part though, the one who'd read so many books and storybooks, geography books, any book really, hoped for what the outside held. To her the fairytale endings of some seemed far and near unreachable. Yet here was a chance for herself to start. Get out of the castle, if only for a little bit.
This is either going to start or end very badly, and not only will Hiccup be mad at you, you'll be mad at you and it'll be an overall horrible situation. Reason tried to stop her, she had time to rebind the man, she could have.
She didn't though.

As Rapunzel undid the hair ties around him, Flynn remained motionless for the most part. He wanted to keep up the appearance of actually not wanting to go anywhere. Once the hair was off of his hands, though, all bets were off. He didn't waste a moment. He moved a couple of paces back, picking up what appeared to be a good sized bundle of blonde hair to use as his escape rope, and prepared to make his escape. However, before he made his way to the window he turned to Hiccup. The redhead appeared a bit dumbfounded by what he was witnessing. Almost ready to bring reason into the situation and point out that perhaps Flynn wasn't going to keep his end of the deal. Well, Flynn would just have to make sure that he didn't get his words out. The thief decided to pull a devious move of his own. Repeating the actions Hiccup had done while he was unconscious what felt like a few minutes ago, Flynn proceeded to wet his own finger and give Hiccup an unpleasant present in his ear. "What? Ew. EW. EWWW!" This seemed to incapacitate Hiccup. The redhead was so preoccupied with the fact that now the wet willie shoe was on the other foot (so to speak) that he didn't notice Flynn actually backing up toward the window with Rapunzel's hair in hand. "Let's call that revenge for earlier. And I believe this is the part where I make my exit. See ya!" Flynn didn't quite know what he was doing with all that hair, nor how it would work out in his favor to use it as a rope, but he didn't have much of a choice now. His opportunity to escape was present at last, and there was no way he was going to let it slip out of his grasp. Without waiting to hear either the witch or wizard's comments on his actions, Flynn proceeded to toss his bundle of hair out the window as if it was a rope before climbing on to the windowsill, grabbing on, and propelling himself downward. Ha! That ought to have surprised them. There's no way either of them would actually try to come after me.(ooc: Bah... not as awesome a post as I was hoping it would be. )

OH Rapunzel you air headed dope! You should have seen it coming! YOU DID!!! Hiccup warned you! She screamed inwardly. Though while all of her angry thoughts screamed at her being, she could only muster a somewhat hurt, confused expression. and than there was a slight tug on her hair. He was using her to escape?! It wouldn't do! In order to attempt and stop the thief though, she had to ignore the fact that her friend was nearly in shock of the wet willie. An apologetic smile flashed on her face before becoming a thin grimace. The girl rushed to the window sill, throwing her hair onto the hook above and propelling down herself.
Of course that left a somewhat shortage of hair from the bottom, not to mention two bodies now hung on the hook. Her golden blonde hair billowed behind her, extracting a few feet from the bottom. If the thief did get to the bottom before her though, he'd have to jump. It might slow him down, but it wouldn't stop him. The girl's emerald gaze was fixed on the thief, adrenaline pumping. She might actually catch him!!! Once she was on foot she could use her hair as a lasso. He certainly hadn't expected the girl to react, though she knew Hiccup would be none to pleased if she let him get away. It was her fault and even if the teen did, she'd never live it down. She'd know it was her fault, always her fault. It had been stupid and selfish, and while letting the dog off the leash, he had bolted and was nearly down the street and around the corner. Well she wouldn't disappoint Hiccup, herself. She wouldn't let herself be played.
Through all her determination though, the hook at the very top of the tower did not feel the same way. It was actually quite angry. Angry enough to break away the bricks and almost snag itself free. Crumbs of the bricks fell down and a sudden lurch alerted Rapunzel of the fit above. Her stomach jumped fearfully up, into her throat. Her emerald eyes shooting up from the expanse of blonde hair. Her breathing had quickened. She was probably 40 ft from the ground, Flynn probably to close to the ground to worry about the lurch. Actually it probably helped him down.
Rapunzel though, looked upwards fearfully, trying to swallow her fear, she proceeded down again, descending 10 more feet. A larger lurch, this time effectively getting Rapunzel to cling to her own hair. Like that would help. Almost three stories high, and shaking, Rapunzel continued her brave endeavor, trying to shimmy the rest of the way down. The hook would hear nothing of it, and lurched further, causing Rapunzel to give up and hold on. Like a deer in the middle of the road, a mere growth of the pavement in its fear, Rapunzel clung to the thing that seemed to be deciding her impending doom. Nothing good could come from a near 30 ft drop.
"FLYNN!!" the blonde cried in the vain hope of getting the thief's attention. There was no way Hiccup would be able to pull her up or keep the hook in long enough for her to propel down. The height, how far she was down, and her own weight as well as the weight of her hair was working against her. "HICCUP!! FLYNN!!" She cried again, locking her legs around her hair this time.
Why would Flynn help you? You hit him in the head with a frying pan. TWICE! How can Hiccup help you? He can't run down all those stairs in order to catch you! Her voice screamed, and Rapunzel bit her bottom lip. It seemed she had no option besides what gravity intended for her. Even her screaming was only a little louder than a hoarse cry, her throat closing with the thought of herself colliding with the ground below. A shiver rippled down her spine as she clutched her blonde hair. She waited, waited to see Flynn's retreating figure into the treeline. What help would the hostage offer her? Or well, escaped hostage?

Things seemed to be going his way. No scrawny teen to nag him, no blonde to distract him... just him and the freedom that was almost his. Flynn could feel the wind whipping past him as he went downward with his hold still on Rapunzel's hair. It appeared she was a bit slow on the uptake, as he was nearing the bottom when he finally took notice of her. Just when Flynn neared the bottom and he thought he would be able to make a break for it, though, her cry broke through the air and stopped him dead in his tracks.
"HICCUP!! FLYNN!!"
There she was holding on for dear life to her hair just about thirty feet up in the air. He hesitated. On the one hand, he was free of being a hostage. Free to run off toward the treeline not terribly far from him and retreat into the woods. As far as he was concerned, Rapunzel had been his captor. He had been meant to break away from her, hadn't he? On the other hand... Flynn felt his stomach knotting up with guilt as he looked up at her. It was his fault she was up there like that. It would be his fault if something bad happened to her. He glanced back toward the forest and then back up to the blonde in danger. This was probably going to make him feel very stupid at some point, but his decision became clear when he looked up at Rapunzel again.
"Rapunzel! Let go! I'll catch you!"
----
From up above, Hiccup hadn't had much of a chance to react to what was happening. He had preoccupied himself with ridding his ear of the slimy feeling that Flynn had left him with and was almost wishing that he hadn't even heard about Tuffnut doing that to Ruffnut. If he hadn't, then Flynn wouldn't have needed to retaliate. It didn't take a terribly long time to rid himself of the feeling, though. Once he'd stopped rubbing his ear dry he realized he was alone. Rapunzel was gone. His first instinct was to assume that she had decided to go after Flynn, perhaps down the stairs, and so he took a step forward to see if that was the case. He stopped mid-step when he heard Rapunzel's cry, only to whip around and run as best he could to the window. He arrived just in time to see Rapunzel dangling below him.
Hiccup felt his stomach drop when he saw Rapunzel hanging there. That was a situation befitting someone as unlucky as him. For a beat he wondered if he had unintentionally passed his bad luck off on to her, but it only lasted a moment. He had to do something to try and help Rapunzel. But what could he do? If he took the stairs he'd never make it in time! What he heard from below, though, seemed to be his answer. He heard Flynn say he would catch her. As much as Hiccup wanted to protest and say he was setting her up for disaster again, he wondered what other choice she had. It was that or end up with a fate that he thought only he deserved. So, as much as Hiccup hated to say it, he was going to put his faith in Flynn and hope that he would follow through with his statement.
Dear gods... don't let me be a fool for trusting him...

Rapunzel looked up, the vague head of Hiccup peering down at her. She was to afraid to look down though. Hugging her hair as a life line, though it was most likely to get her into trouble. It seemed as much good as it brought her, the bad eventually caught up. If Flynn thought his stomach was knotting up... the girl's was helium. To bad it wasn't enough to keep her a float in the wind. Through her own hair she felt the slipping, and tried to shimmy down, succeeding in a few feet before the quickening pace at which she was falling was to much to handle for her heart. It was beating as fast as a humming bird's wings. Fast enough it might be mistaken for flat lining. At least it felt like that. She was actually surprised one of her ribs hadn't broken with the force her heart seemed to be pumping. Adrenaline rush gone and cold fear replacing it. Rapunzel had to avert her gaze from Hiccup. She stared at the threads of her golden hair. Waiting.
"Rapunzel! Let go! I'll catch you!"
The abrupt words caught Rapunzel from her waiting as she snapped her head to look down. Flynn was standing there. Shouldn't he be gone? Into the forest and away with the two magic users? Her gaze quickly averted from the ground though. She'd never feared heights, but dangling a little less than 30 ft in the air and one gained that fear.
"But- but- how can I trust you?" The girl seemed to call down. Was this time for questions? No, of course not. Though she was afraid that if she jumped, and he didn't catch her... he'd already lied once. Maybe this was his way of keeping her or Hiccup from following him? Highly unlikely. "I mean... I'm in no place to question you... or really talk, honestly, but I mean..." Babbling, she'd resulted to babbling. If Flynn hadn't already been debating whether he should leave the girl, it seemed his decision should be clear. After all she appeared she couldn't even make up her mind.
"I-I mean, you did kinda ruuUUU-" there was a sudden lurch and Rapunzel wasted no time in letting go of her hair and falling. It seemed the tower had decided her consistent babbling was to much and had forced her into a decision. The lurch had surprised her, and with that she fell. A small yelp of surprise as she came down faster than expected. Her eyes were shut tightly.
Please don't let me be an idiot for trusting him... again. Rapunzel seemed to have a funny way with people. She seemed she'd already placed her trust in the thief, though he was a thief. An almost escapee as well. Yet she placed her trust again blindly. Though circumstances were different, and it was more of a pressured decision. It was one she made nonetheless.
She just hoped it wasn't a mistake.
