Flynn nodded his approval as he watched Rapunzel mimic his actions. It looked as though there was more power behind her attack now, which was obviously a good thing. One would have wondered just why he was teaching two magical beings about how to defend themselves if they found themselves unarmed. One reason he could think of was that it would just be beneficial to them. If they found themselves unable to use magic for one reason or another, they would need some kind of backup plan. This would be a good one. "Good... looking better already." Flynn commented at length. He decided not to think about his other reason, namely that he wanted to make sure the two stayed protected. Some part of the werewolf seemed to be growing attached to the two of them for one reason or another. Maybe it was just that he had saved Rapunzel's life and he had to get used to the fact that the two teens were his captors. Yeah, that was probably it.
From the corner of his eye, Flynn could see Hiccup trying to mimic the movement as well. He only had one hand to work with, which was unfortunate, but Flynn did see some improvement in Hiccup's movement. Maybe there's some hope for him after all. he thought. He had noticed that Hiccup's movement seemed a bit awkward, but couldn't place why that was. Perhaps it was just that Hiccup was an awkward sort of kid and had an awkward sort of movement to him.
"Okay... now let's try something else. Kicking." Flynn said. He shook himself a bit to loosen up before getting into a different stance. This one appeared somewhat looser, but he kept his arms in front of him to keep himself defended while he also appeared a bit lighter on his feet. "Kicking is fairly simple. I don't think I really need to go over it, so let's see what you've got. You first, Hiccup." Flynn said.
Hiccup appeared just the slightest bit dumbfounded. He actually wanted him to try and kick him? The dumbfounded look vanished quickly and there was a sort of devious flicker in his emerald eyes. This was the chance he had been waiting for. "Oh, you mean like this?"
The kick that followed was swift and aimed just below where Flynn was using his arms to block. What was more, it had come from Hiccup's left leg. The look of sheer surprise on Flynn's face from the impact of the twiggy Viking's kick was worth the moment of being thrown off balance that followed for Hiccup. As Hiccup brought his leg down, gingerly placing it on the ground so as not to apply too much pressure, Flynn reeled backward and had to bring his arms out to balance himself. Once he'd regained his balance, Flynn shook his head just a little and returned his dumbfounded attention to Hiccup.
"How's that for someone who could only pull off a 'poke on steroids'?" Hiccup smirked. He flashed a sort of cocky grin to Rapunzel, almost as if he were asking for her own assessment of his performance. No matter what Flynn said, he felt good.

Rapunzel had gotten in the kicking position ready to release her leg into the air, knee half raised up to extend, a devious flicker in the red head's eyes caught her attention. "Hicu-" and just like that Hiccup's prosthetic was extended in place of a foot and knocked the large werewolf back. A look of surprise flashed on Rapunzel's face almost equally the dumbfounded look on Flynn.
After getting over the draw dropping moment, Rapunzel's face went red and the girl sank to her knees. Before anything though the girl's silent laughter turned louder, the look on Flynn's face was priceless as well as humorous and the girl couldn't contain the laughter. She also couldn't contain how happy she was that Hiccup wasn't the shy thing most of the castle knew, his cocky, devious antics showing at that moment. Through the long gaps of laughter, though Rapunzel was able to convey her assessment of Hiccup's swift performance.
"Good... kick.. not a poke... at all!" It came at length and it seemed a while before the blonde was able to bring it back together and get enough air back into her hurting abdomen. Brushing back the hair that had fallen over her face Rapunzel stood up again. The antics between the two males was funny, hilarious maybe. Unless it was just Rapunzel who found this hilarious, which would be embarrassing. Though evidenced by Hiccup's grin she couldn't be the only one.
"I'm sorry, though I think I might have grown some abs choking myself with laughter." She flashed a grin at the two.

Flynn, quite obviously, hadn't thought the surprise tactic had been nearly as funny as Rapunzel clearly thought it was. Whatever doubts Flynn had about any deviousness in Hiccup's personality were gone. Clearly the kid was devious when he wanted to be. He rubbed the spot Hiccup had kicked and cleared his throat a bit to try and regain order. That much seemed a bit impossible, though, as it appeared Hiccup was on some satisfaction high and Rapunzel had gone into a full blown laughing fit. The latter of the two was something Flynn had only seen on very rare occasions. The last time he had seen one was back when he was still a kid.
"Dude... the hell is your leg made of? Metal?" Flynn asked. He was sort of teasing, mainly because he hadn't actually gotten a good look at the lower half of the Viking, but he almost wished he could take his statement back when he actually did glance down at Hiccup's feet. Metal. That was indeed what the left foot was. Partially wood as well, but it was no wonder it had been more powerful than he had anticipated.
Hiccup, instead of losing his satisfaction like he would have expected, just continued gloating in his quiet sort of way. "Guess one good thing came out of this. I got revenge for the poke on steroids comment." Hiccup said.
"Yes... yes you did." Flynn muttered. Now he had to do something just as devious to get revenge! It was turning into a never ending cycle of revenge tactics. Almost like...
No, no. Hiccup is not your brother. He never will be. He's just an annoying little brat. Flynn told himself. "Okay then, Miss Giggles," Flynn finally turned his attention to Rapunzel again. Hopefully she had calmed down from the laughing fit by then, and it did seem like she had, because he wanted to see what Rapunzel could do as well. "Let's see what you've got. And don't tell me you've got the same kind of sneaky thing up your sleeves like he did, because I will probably have to eat my shoe if that's the case." he said.

"Oh well I thought dogs loved shoes." The girl gloated hopping onto her feet and getting back into position. Flashing a smile at Hiccup. It seemed that the never ending cycle of revenge the two boys had might be just that. Comments, physical violence... It wasn't like Rapunzel was in any place to play peace maker though, as long as it stayed at a 'brotherly' sort of fighting fashion. When one started bringing large objects to be thrown at the other she'd probably have to step in.
"And Miss Giggles? Certainly an improvement in name choice." The blonde continued to tease the werewolf, bringing her arms in front of her. Giving a nod to Flynn as if indicating she was going to kick, she raised her knew and extended her leg quickly with as much force as she could muster. It knocked the girl slightly of balance as she shifted back on her foot and shuffling sort of motion, but otherwise a satisfied smile spread on her lips. Stretching and dangling by hair was one way to ensure flexibility as well as her old daily routines when it had just been her and Gothel in the castle.
"Probably not as good as Hiccup." Rapunzel shrugged, happy to dub herself not as good as the teen. He had done better she'd believed, a prosthetic leg seemed to easily overpower flesh and bone, not to mention the surprise tactic. All Rapunzel had for surprise was her hair and kicking, well that didn't really involve the head. Though if Flynn had wondered if her hair could be used for anything else besides catching someone by surprise and tying up, he'd find in Rapunzel's hands her hair seemed to be an extension and muscle of it's very own The blonde had learned how to skillfully wield it, if that wasn't evidenced enough by her actions in catching the thief.

"Oh, come on. Just because I'm a werewolf doesn't mean I eat shOOF!!"
While it hadn't been as strong as Hiccup's kick, which could be attributed to the fact that he sort of cheated with his prosthetic, Flynn was forced back a little bit by Rapunzel's attempted kick. Once he'd regained his balance, though, he found himself offering an impressed sort of look to the two. They were decent. Better than he thought they would be, even if Hiccup did need to work on his punching. "Okay, I give you two credit. You're not bad." Flynn finally said. Maybe this wasn't going to be so bad after all. He could get used to working with Rapunzel and Hiccup. Even if Hiccup was a pain in the butt. That could be attributed to the fact that he was younger and had the sort of sharp, venomous tongue that seemed to balance out nicely with Flynn's own arrogant sort of nature.
"What? Don't tell me that's all you're going to teach us." Hiccup said. There was a hint of disappointment in the redhead's tone. It almost sounded like he really did want to learn more.
"Well... yeah. That's all I really know. Besides that, I'd hate for you to end up more beaten up than you were to start out with. Twiggy." Flynn snickered. It was partially true, though. Flynn didn't particularly feel like roughing up Hiccup, or Rapunzel for that matter, with more advanced techniques. Besides, they were only just starting out. They still had a whole week to learn more. "I mean, it's not like I'm going anywhere. We've got plenty of time until I've gotta make like a tree and leaf." Flynn said.

"Thanks." The blonde replied to the man's praise happily. Sure it had just been two simple maneuvers, but two she'd just improved with. A small lighted her features though as Hiccup seemed just as eager to learn to defend himself.... Unless he had other motives involving revenge. At least he'd get better at fighting. If he was as lethal a weapon as his tongue he'd be fine on his own, though as the world had it, it seemed sarcasm could not strike an enemy down like it might as 7 year olds.
Though it did seem it might be an interesting week with the werewolf. After all they seemed to be getting on relatively well aside from the fact Flynn was technically a prisoner...
"Maybe we'll also learn you're amazing puns!" Rapunzel remarked. "Make like a tree and leaf, never heard that one before." She teased. The girl than backed away a few steps, tossed her hair up and over the rafters and proceeded to do the same until she had a little 'swing' made and sat in it, entertaining herself with the swinging motion as well as paying attention to Flynn and Hiccup.

Flynn let one eyebrow quirk when she mentioned his pun. She'd really never heard that one before? Wow. I thought everybody knew that one. was his initial thought. Then again, he'd picked it up from the older kids at the orphanage. Where they had heard it was anyone's guess. Now, at least, they had something else they could talk about. "Sure, I think I've still got a few puns left in me. I think I could teach you guys some of those, too." Flynn said. It was going to be an interesting time, that was for certain. Almost like he was going back in time and hanging out with kids from the orphanage. That was what this time sort of reminded him of in a way. Hiccup being the youngest and Rapunzel being younger than him, it was almost sort of like he was looking after a pair of kids again. Or they were looking after him. Either way, he didn't think the situation was so bad anymore. (ooc: I'm drawing a blank, too. Maybe the thread is reaching its end?)
