"Oh, for the love of... this isn't the time to be questioning me! Just-"
It appeared as though he didn't even have time to finish his plea for her to trust him. The hook seemed to have given out and he vaguely saw Hiccup try to make a grab for it, but it looked as though he didn't have much of a choice in the matter. The blonde witch was falling and he was the only one that could save her. What had he gotten himself into? Well, even if it was stupid for him to want to stick around he really couldn't back out of it now. Faster than he would have even anticipated, Flynn dashed forward to meet Rapunzel as she fell. He stopped just beneath her, bracing himself for impact, and held his arms out to catch the her.
Somehow, Flynn couldn't bring himself to look. It was almost as if he was bracing himself for failure as well. What if he had miscalculated the position of the blonde and how close he would need to be? What if she was heavier than she looked? Either way, Flynn just didn't know if he should look. He'd wait for the feeling of something heavy impacting him to know for certain if he had succeeded. Silently, Flynn hoped he wouldn't even need that. It should have gone without saying. He would catch her. He had to.
...Otherwise, he was going to feel incredibly awkward. Not to mention stupid.
Fine time for chivalry to kick in.

Shouldn't I be seeing my life flash before my eyes? Have some sort of epiphany or view of what my future should be like? Rapunzel idly wondered as she felt the wind whipping her hair as she fell. To all those who thought falling was the closest thing to flying... They were so wrong. In definition the two seemed to be complete opposites. In flying, one knew they would stay afloat unless some unforeseen structure stopped them. Falling, you knew you'd have to stop. There was only the dread of when and the detachment one had in their dizzy, lightheaded minds. Not even sadness for the future? she heard herself ask in her head. Whatever coherent answer that was starting to form, was interrupted.
Rapunzel felt herself stop, if only with a sudden jolt and sort of bounce. Her arms outstretched and and gripped around something, as if to stop the continuation of the fall. Eyes still plastered shut, her breath catching for a moment. It took her a minute to catch up on breathing, her heart to settle down and for her to actually hear something other than the blood pumping in her own ears. Rapunzel was than aware that she was alive and no longer falling. Though it felt that if she stepped away, moved from whatever had caught her, she'd fall through the ground and continue the fall that her body clearly remembered. Though for now... it seemed stable.
Carefully, as if believing that if she opened her eyes it would either be white as clouds or dark as night. As her vision cleared though, she became aware that there was a sky above her, a tower to her side, and a treeline to the other. There was also a face directly above her. Her arms clutching around Flynn's neck like her life very much depended on it. A slight blush formed on her face. Awkward, but the thankful, the girl gulped, looking up at Flynn. Who had just saved her life and a rather large mess on the tower bottom.
"Uhm... th-thanks.... I know it sounds weird but... is the world spinning or is it just me?" The girl asked a small smile forming as she realized that not only was the world there, but it was spinning in the joy that the blonde was alive. Probably due to the lightheaded feeling. The girl decided silently, but had to blink the sunshine and the spinning world away.

Flynn felt the impact, all right. Not only that, but he also felt something wrapping around his neck and hanging on for dear life. For a long moment he just stayed there, letting the fact that he had actually caught her sink in before actually looking to see if she was okay. Yep... everything was in tact. Rider, you've succeeded once again. he thought as a sly grin briefly graced his features. It softened a bit when he heard her thank him, though. It had been a risk to trust him. Usually he would have said it would be a foolish decision to put trust in him. And yet, Flynn had stuck around to save her life. Maybe getting hit on the head by a frying pan twice had had more of an impact on him than he had realized. Or maybe guilt had finally gotten the better of him and he just decided to make it stop before it got too out of hand. Either way, he had saved her. For some reason he was grateful for that fact.
"Hey, I may be a thief but that doesn't mean I'd let you fall." Flynn decided to say. Not that he couldn't have done so. He could have easily retreated. Forgotten all about Hiccup and Rapunzel like they were nothing and just make a break for the woods to rejoin his pack. But he hadn't done that. He'd stuck around like... a good guy. Huh. Maybe he wasn't as bad as he liked to claim he was from time to time. ...Not to mention it wouldn't have looked good if he had left her to die. Hiccup might have revealed what happened to whoever was in charge of the group of magical beings. That wouldn't have been good.
A smirk appeared on Flynn's face and he shook his head a little in answer to her question regarding the world spinning. "I think it's just you seeing the world spinning. You okay otherwise?" Flynn asked. She probably was shaken, which was understandable since she had almost met an untimely demise, but otherwise she appeared okay.

"Hey, I may be a thief but that doesn't mean I'd let you fall."
Rapunzel nodded, encouraged by the thought. At least he was no hard hearted thief, intent only on his own gains and losses. He'd saved her, that counted for something. Though it also made her feel bad. At his indication that the spinning might just be her, Rapunzel let out an audibly O, and nodded to Flynn. "Fine... but I feel bad now..." Rapunzel looked down guiltily. "Cus I meant what I said, thanks for saving my life and all. I really should've listened to Hiccup, though and its not like I can just say bye and let you go..." Rapunzel continued. Of course she could though. She could let him go and deal with Hiccup from anger, sadness, or happiness at her being alive, letting Flynn go. She wouldn't though, either based on her own selfish reasons or fear of Hiccup's future sadness. Shakily, Rapunzel released her grip from Flynn, using his arm to keep her upright as she closed her eyes, took a deep breath and steadied the world. Grabbing a bit of her hair she moved forward towards the door to the tower stairs. She was giving him the choice, try and run, or follow her back to the tower. They were on even ground if he tried to run, now though. The blonde wanted to give him the benefit of the doubt, believe he'd come willingly. If he didn't, that's what her hair was for. She also didn't think she could risk the adventure in the forest he'd promised and promptly lied about. The tower seemed the safest bet.
It was surprising though, the blonde had not gone into shock which was good. As long as she didn't go into it later. As of right now, she felt fine, shaken up, but otherwise fine. She'd thrown her trust at Flynn for the third time today, the first seeming to have been the only mistake. Right now it was a 50-50, how he decided to act next... would be the deciding factor it seemed. He probably wouldn't go, and Rapunzel was prepared. He'd saved her life... but she couldn't disappoint poor Hiccup. The deed wouldn't go unnoticed though. Rapunzel did believe she'd go into shock, probably prolonged, sometime at night when everything coming rushing back. As of right now though, she'd be fine...
She watched Flynn prepping for his answer, and as if to show her trust again... she took a step backwards as if to start ascending. I hope I'm not making another mistake... how many times have I thought that today? It can't be good...

Now Flynn found himself faced with a choice. She was letting him make it on his own, too. On the one hand, he could have easily shifted to wolf form and bolted for the forest to gain his freedom. On the other, he could give in to the fact that he was pretty much back in the position of a prisoner and follow Rapunzel back up the stairs to the top of the tower. He did feel pretty confident in his ability to outspeed her, especially since he could move faster as a wolf, but still... he didn't know if he really could try to escape again. The question was why he was being so hesitant to try it. He knew he could run. He had the advantage of knowing the forest better than she would have. On the other hand, it wouldn't be a good idea to throw her into the dangers of the woods just to catch him. ...Besides, she had that long hair. He didn't doubt she'd try to use it. That, and a part of him wanted to try and make up for being an ass and lying the first time about having an adventure.
At length, a sigh escaped the werewolf. "I guess there really is no way I'm getting out of this, huh?" Flynn asked. He didn't really need an answer. The fact that she was waiting for him to make up his mind gave that fact away. He just shook his head a little and offered a soft, halfhearted laugh. "All right, you win. I give."
To prove his point, he proceeded to go forward to follow her. If the Stabbington Brothers could have seen him right then, willingly giving up his freedom, they would have never let him live it down. He didn't even know why he was giving in this time. Maybe it was just him trying to build up the trust necessary for him to have in order to convince her to let him go, or maybe he just had a thing for stubborn blondes. Either way it seemed he was going along with it all right. "Though, you do owe me for saving your life." he pointed out.
That ought to soften her up a bit. he hoped as the vaguest hint of a sly grin returned to his features. Surely the 'I saved your life, now you owe me something' card would get him some kind of chance at getting away. If not... well, he supposed he would just have to do the time for doing the crime. Or he'd come up with something else.

Rapunzel shook her head. He wasn't. No way would she let him. At his soft laugh Rapunzel prepared to throw her hair and catch him. But... she'd won? Her look of surprise must've been funny as she watched the thief as he came towards her. It was a surprise, indeed. She hadn't expected that. As he entered the tower though, The girl closed the door to the tower and started taking the steps two at a time. Eager? Yes. " I know, I really do." Rapunzel called over sincerely. She did owe him, she'd be a bloody splat on the ground had he not intercepted. She wouldn't forget. Not to say she fully trusted him, she just had a new found respect for thieves.
The girl did start huffing as she got around the second story, but continued up at the same place. Was her excitement so evident? Two flights later though, Rapunzel was nearly crawling. At the door to the tower room, Rapunzel was almost on her knees, calves burning, face flushed and red. As soon as the girl found her chair, she flopped in it, taking a deep breath. She'd never make fun of someone who had to climb those stairs. Ever. An eager pleased looked turned to Hiccup as she finally caught her breath. "We got him!!" She panted, waiting for the thief to appear over the steps. She hadn't tied him up, any man who willingly submitted himself to punishment, in her mind, didn't deserve to be tied up. She'd decided to show him the respect and had not marched him up the steps as a prisoner.
Rapunzel than pulled her hair up, slowly, moving to get more water and gulping it down almost as fast as Hiccup had earlier. Having caught her breath, the girl's lips were in a wide triumphant grim. Stubborn blonde was stubborn, and she'd certainly gotten her way this time. Looking over to Flynn Rapunzel seemed to realize something. Hopping up Rapunzel looked around. He at least deserved hospitality.
"Uhm... anything material you need? Makeshift bedroom's that way," Rapunzel pointed down to some small room and continued to all the other necessities and things he'd need to know. Rapunzel was quite the hospitable captor!

Of course. He shouldn't have expected her to just willingly shift to 'I'll do whatever you want' mode so easily. With a shake of his head, he followed Rapunzel up the flight of stairs leading to the top of the tower. He'd noticed her excitement and couldn't help but smirk a bit at it. Even after nearly meeting her doom, she was still that excitable blonde he'd met earlier. It was almost amusing how she seemed so perky about the whole thing. Maybe... it wouldn't be so bad after all. It was only a slight maybe, though. He didn't think he would end up stuck in the tower forever. That would be much too harsh. No, Flynn would just have to sneak out if he wanted to get back to being a werewolf in his pack. Obviously, though, he wasn't going to let on to that fact.
He followed Rapunzel through the door and looked the room over once more. Not a bad place to be kept, he supposed. As long as he could take his leave unnoticed. He didn't think Rapunzel would actually stay in the tower anyway, so he'd be safe to leave on his own. ...Right?
The question of whether or not he needed anything earned a shake of his head. Flynn had always been a guy of simple needs. He thought he could manage staying in the tower on his own with whatever was up there already. "Nah, I think I'm good to go. Just out of curiosity, though, I'm wondering. How long do you two intend on keeping me up here?" Flynn asked. He was merely curious. If it wasn't that long, then perhaps he wouldn't need to sneak out. If they hadn't determined a time of captivity, then he would just have to sneak out the next time he was given an opportunity.
Were Hiccup alone with Rapunzel in that moment, he probably would have launched himself into the biggest 'I'm so glad you're alive' hug imaginable. As it was, though, he was more confused by the fact that Flynn had willingly given himself up after he had been given the opportunity to run off again. Regardless, Hiccup didn't give up his opportunity to at least move away from the window and come closer to the pair that had reentered the tower. Flynn's question regarding how long he would stay there... well, Hiccup didn't have an answer. It had been Rapunzel's idea to keep him there, after all. Hiccup had just gone along with the idea of not letting him go. Instead of voicing his thoughts, though, Hiccup just glanced to Rapunzel and hoped she would have some idea.

Rapunzel exchanged a look between the thief and Hiccup. She really didn't know and she pondered it. An idea suddenly came to her head and she nearly hopped. Perky blonde was indeed perky. "Think of it as... thief rehab? I mean, you already showed your a pretty decent guy!" Rapunzel went on starting to pace. "And we just keep you here until... I dunno you're not... greedy?" The girl went on, her words weren't going with her thoughts... the the ideas were plain and bright on her face. She had a tendency to look to far ahead and plan things out, normally it never working out for a bit. "And... a week or two before we determine if you've made any progress...?" Rapunzel finalized, looking at Hiccup. He'd have to approve of course. He was the most rational between him and her. Had she listened to him in the first place, none of this would have happened.
Rapunzel was pacing eagerly around the room, poking and prodding things into place absently. Rapunzel liked helping, though she wasn't to keen on chores, people were an entirely different matter. She could read intentions, so if she could read from black to white and all the colors in between, why shouldn't she be able to get people from bad to good? Improve moral character? She wasn't experienced in the least with this thing, and had no clue how to stop Flynn from trying to steal if there really was nothing in the tower to steal. He was also, probably to smart to figure out bait from the real deal. So maybe thieving withdrawal would break him of the habit? Or make it worse.... but Rapunzel preferred to look at the positive possible side.
"I'll stay here during the night though, Hiccup, you can stay if you want too... but I'm not sure what Mother might say, or if she'd be okay with any of this." Rapunzel shrugged. She probably wouldn't be, but she had to keep their 'patient' from making an early checkout. In all aspects this seemed to be a real life game of 'house' or 'doctor' children played. Just with actual people and problems. Funny how that worked out. Rapunzel moved over to the pillow and blanket, setting it up by the window for later where she'd make her vigil. There were a few books scattered around she could amuse herself with until she was sure the thief was asleep and she could slip to dreams too. Her habit of thinking ahead was there. Again.
Rapunzel looked between the two guys, as if silently asking their thoughts. Her demeanor obviously bubbly at the thought of helping and actually having something to focus on than magic. It seemed like a... nice break. She didn't have the ability to leave the tower, and Hiccup was grounded from it for the next few days, so until then, the two seemed to have some sort of 'hobby'. Wouldn't Mother be proud?

Hiccup thought for a moment. Somehow, a week did sound rather fair. It wasn't too long, but it wasn't too short a time either. Gothel had given him that much time with his own grounding, too, so it seemed to be the common ground. At length, the redhead gave a nod of confirmation. "I think a week would be fair. That way we don't raise any suspicions with any werewolves he might be associated with for having him gone too long, and we don't raise Gothel's suspicions either by having someone up here for a terribly long time." he said. He looked to Flynn, almost searching those brown eyes to see if there was any sort of plan there, but he found no sign of any plotting from the thief. Either he was a very good actor or he really was giving in to the idea of being captured for once. This would be... interesting.
"As for me staying up here... I don't think that would work out too well. I only say that because if I start disappearing at night, Spike might start nosing his way around here and that might not be a good thing." Hiccup said. His familiar was a rather curious dog, after all. Dogs were friendly by nature. He just didn't know how Spike would react to the idea of a werewolf being in the tower. They had to be cautious. "But I'd be more than willing to help you keep an eye on him when I have a chance to. I mean, someone's got to keep an eye on this doofus." Hiccup smirked.
"Hey. Who said anything about me being a doofus, Twiggy?" Flynn asked. He wasn't too opposed to the idea of sticking around for a week. Flynn didn't think the pack would find it terribly suspicious if he disappeared for that long. Any longer, though, and there might have been problems. "Besides, it's not me that needs to be watched. I'd be more concerned about watching out for you." Flynn said. He'd let Hiccup take that as he would, as he didn't particularly feel like explaining that Hiccup just looked like the sort of kid that needed to be watched. It was either that or something horrible would happen to him just from having something look at him funny.
Certainly looks like he's already had stuff happen to him. came the snarky thought as he went over the appearance of the redhead in his mind again. Arm in a sling, hobble-y sort of walk, twiggy build... the kid was a walking disaster waiting to happen! "But, if you two really think you ought to keep an eye on me then I say go ahead. Not like I've got anywhere else to go right now." Flynn said. ...Other than back to his pack, that is. But that wouldn't be a problem. All he would have to do would be get back unharmed and nothing would be questioned. Simple.

Rapunzel nodded. Just her it seemed. That wasn't for a while longer so... that was good. Rapunzel nodded again. She'd yet to understand this familiar thing. She didn't have her own and couldn't understand the seeming bond between them. So, she shrugged. "Any helps good." She reassured the teen, though she was confident she'd be able to handle the thief. After all how hard could it be? He was only a werewolf, he'd saved her life and she didn't think he'd be prone to canine tendencies and wouldn't snap at her... sure a temper was to be expected, but she doubted he'd attack her.
As the two began to exchange insults, she rolled her eyes. "You're like two bickering sisters!" Not like she'd know how sisters bickered, being an only child herself. She did suppose that's how they'd bicker though. Name calling, and the likes. Maybe it was a guy thing?
Rapunzel looked at Flynn suspiciously. Was he trying to play some game? Or did he just see this as some temporary living establishment with perks? Oh well. She shrugged and moved to a bookshelf and grabbed a few books and set them down on where she'd be tonight. She seemed very dedicated to her mission at hand. Looking at Hiccup, Rapunzel decided to make sure he knew the cover story in case Gothel questioned him. After all they were the ones who hung out together most of the time. "OH, Hiccup, if my mother wonders I'm up here finishing a painting, I've got everything I need and the hook at the top of the window fell of when I tried to get my hair unstuck. That'd probably keep her, she hates the stairs as much as anyone." Rapunzel laughed, whirling on her heel she turned to Flynn.
"So this pack of yours, they don't mind you missing for a week?" She asked, genuinely curious about what kind of pack would do that. Maybe the ways of werewolves were so much more different than witches, wizards, or other races?

"Sorry..." the pair murmured in response to the bickering sisters comment. It was funny, though. The two of them were acting as if they were related, poking fun at each other and generally acting like annoyances around one another, and yet they weren't related at all. Well, Flynn found it kind of funny at the very least. If they weren't from different races and hadn't come from different places, then perhaps they could have been brothers in some other lifetime. As it was, though, they were just a twiggy Viking and a werewolf thief.
"And don't worry, I'll keep Gothel off our trail. I don't think she'd really go looking too deeply in to what happened, anyway. ...Unless she heard any of what happened with the 'Let's try and use the window to escape' shenanigans." Hiccup pointed out. He didn't think she would have heard anything, though. No one else had seemed to hear them, and Gothel certainly hadn't come running. Maybe the raven-haired witch had gone out or was too preoccupied in a further part of the castle to have heard them. Either way, Hiccup was just glad that she hadn't come to bother them.
In response to Rapunzel's question regarding his pack, Flynn shook his head a little. "Nah, I doubt they'd notice." Flynn replied with a shrug. They hadn't noticed him leave that morning to try his hand at stealing from the castle, anyway. Who was to say they'd miss him for a week? It wasn't even like he was all that important in the pack, anyway. He wasn't the leader or anything. Just an average wolf in the pack. "They didn't even see me leave this morning. Who's to say they'd notice if I was gone for a bit?" he asked. Even if he did want to get back, he had to go along with the idea of being 'reformed'. At least for the time being. He didn't actually intend on staying off of thieving forever. Just while he was at the castle.
"It's not even that big a pack. We're more like a group than anything else... at least from what I've seen. There's these two lone wolves that live out elsewhere in the woods, or so I've heard, but I haven't seen them around." he said. He was, of course, referring to Astrid and Snotlout. He'd never met them personally, but did know that they refused to join the pack. For whatever reason they had, they stayed on their own. Maybe Flynn would have to track them down and find out at some point. For the time being, though, he would keep his nose out of their business.
"But enough about me. I am becoming very interested in your story here." Flynn said. He was referring to Rapunzel, mainly, but if Hiccup wanted to chime in then he could. "How come you don't leave the castle more often? You make it sound like you really are a caged canary." he said.

Rapunzel nodded to Hiccup, happy that he was on board. The teen was also one to keep his mouth shut, therefore their secret would continue to be safe. She did listen intently, trying to detect any sadness or anger the man had for his wolf pack that would keep him away. It was mostly indifference though. She turned to exchange a brief, emerald gazed look with Hiccup as he mentioned the lone wolves. It was probably those two werewolves Hiccup knew. The reason he left for the forest almost everyday before the battle she presumed. Though if Flynn wanted to learn more about that, she'd let Hiccup deal with it. She really knew nothing of the matter.
"But enough about me. I am becoming very interested in your story here. How come you don't leave the castle more often? You make it sound like you really are a caged canary."
Rapunzel tried to pass off a shrug. It appeared the thief had changed the subject of conversation, not subtly of course. A shy smile spread on her face as she absently combed her hair. "Oh you know... 70 ft of hair, big, scary forest with a bunch of trees, roots, and bushes to get snagged on..." It was a shower's worst nightmare, or at least Rapunzel's. She'd hate to get her hair caught on something out there. The tangles. She could almost visibly shiver, but she refrained. "Thugs, ruffians, cannibals, plagues.." Rapunzel turned to look at the two, ready for their skeptical looks. She did keep from mentioning her hair's powers. She was very much afraid of it getting cut, seeing as she didn't know what might happen, and seeing as her hair kept growing opposed to most others, it gave evidence it really wasn't supposed to be. At least that's how she thought of it.
"But you can kinda say I am a caged canary. Never been farther than this tower." Rapunzel finished looking away coyly and out the window. She had a few drawings of the view of the forest line from multiple viewpoints and times, yet never going into more detail. Eighteen years of tower drawings and castle studying. She could only imagine the skeptical face of Flynn, probably thinking she was crazy. After all she was a perky little thing yet she'd never ventured out into the world and was satisfied with what she had. As well as all the knew kids, coming in with their tales of the lands they were born. She had little more to tell than a tour of the castle, every nook and cranny.

"Cannibals and plagues?" Flynn asked, letting one eyebrow raise slightly to indicate how perplexed he was. That was rather unlikely. He'd been in the woods long enough to know that the most dangerous things out there were the werewolves and vampires. If one avoided them, there wasn't much to worry about. "Well, you'll be happy to know that you don't have to worry much about cannibals and plagues. Ruffians? That I'm not sure of. Unless you want to classify werewolves as such." he said. Just what sort of information had this girl's mother been feeding her, anyway? Didn't she know the world wasn't a horrible place outside the castle? Well, it sounded like she really hadn't been on an adventure before. Maybe he would have to actually take up his offer of showing her the world wasn't so bad once he'd earned her trust more.
Flynn was beginning to realize that maybe Rapunzel did need to know there was more out there than what she might have been aware of. More to the world than what met the eye. It would have to wait until she got to the point where she could trust him, though, and he knew that. It was partly why he wanted to keep his mouth shut on that matter. After all, why make a promise again when he had broken it the first time? That would just give her less of a reason to trust him. It would make it look like they were talking in circles.
"Every canary's got to spread their wings at some point. Maybe one of these days... you could take a little forest stroll. Take in the nature." he suggested casually. Small steps at first. Slowly leading his way up to her potentially trusting him enough to lead her on an adventure. Cheesy? Maybe so. Flynn thought it was an okay suggestion, though. It wasn't like they had anything else to talk about without taking the topic back to him or shoving the spotlight on Hiccup. He didn't even know if he wanted to know all that much about the redhead, anyway. Not yet.

Rapunzel nodded shyly. It had sounded stupid, so, so stupid. She gave Flynn a curious, surprised look as he mentioned there were no cannibals and plagues. That was odd. Though it might also explain why Hiccup returned alive... though she might've believed it was from the help the female werewolf would have given him. She felt... silly, childish, and kinda stupid. "I think some werewolves could justly be classified as ruffians. I'm sure there are some scarier ones than you." She teased, though werewolves seemed to fit into that class. She was admittedly trying to cover up for the stupid things she'd said. She shouldn't have blurted that out, it made her seem... afraid. She was afraid, though she'd never like to admit that. She'd also rather no show it either.
"Well this canary is content to sit in the nest... she'll spread her wings later." She replied in third person. "And yah... maybe one day." She snuck a sideways glance at the woods again. Trying to redirect the conversation, she looked between Flynn and Hiccup. "So Flynn... where do you come from? And I take it you weren't a petty thief... wanted criminal?" She asked, trying to direct it back to Flynn. After all it would not only change the conversation from her pitiful adventure bone, but give her and Hiccup an idea of what Flynn had done in the past.
It did seem evident that anyone willing to climb a 70ft tower for a treasure that wasn't confirmed was either a starting criminal, one who was very stupid and risky, or a career criminal. Flynn didn't seem inexperienced and he'd even sort of admitted it. So Rapunzel went with the assumption of a career criminal. By his clothing and looks, he also didn't appear to be some scrounging around petty thief living off of pickpocketing. Though the thief was quite the interesting character. Good yet bad, stereotypical dream boat? Probably.

"Suit yourself, but if you ever want to see what's out there I wouldn't mind showing you some day." Flynn said. It wasn't entirely untrue, either. He did kind of want to spend a day with her. He didn't know why it was, but he did rather like Rapunzel. She was different from most girls he had met. Maybe that was what made it so appealing. Maybe. He didn't know and wasn't sure if he really did want to know. Much to his chagrin, though, the topic did shift back to him. Why couldn't they focus on Hiccup or something? Or would that have been awkward? ...Actually, it probably would have been awkward. Even if he did want to know how a twiggy kid like that had ended up in a castle in the first place. And where he had come from was starting to become just the slightest bit more interesting to the thief. But that could wait.
"More or less. I've done my fair share of thieving around various places. Used to have a couple of partners, too, but... we went our separate ways recently." Flynn replied nonchalantly. He didn't exactly want to go into detail about how he had gone werewolf on them and attacked one of the two partners in question. He still wasn't exactly sure what had made him turn on the two. He knew he had turned into a werewolf by that point, but why he had attacked them was beyond his knowledge. "So I guess you could say I'm a lone thief these days. My point of origin... well, it's not that important. Let's just say it's not around these parts." he said. He didn't exactly know where that orphanage he had left behind was anymore, anyway. Too far to remember, that was for certain.
"So basically, you're a wanted criminal that turned werewolf and now you live in the woods." Hiccup deadpanned.
Flynn just frowned a big old frown and narrowed his eyes a bit in response to the redhead's statement. He didn't have to be so blunt about it. "All right, smart guy. What about you? Where are you from?" Flynn finally asked. He really was interested in knowing more about the twiggy Viking. Even if he did enjoy poking fun at him.
Hiccup seemed to have lost his backbone temporarily, though. As soon as the spotlight was turned on him, he fell silent. Home... still wasn't a comfortable topic of conversation for Hiccup, even though he was slowly getting over what had happened. He just didn't want to talk about it much. Especially in front of their hostage. "That's none of your business." Hiccup muttered.
