Reunion, Ghost and Witch

[Danny Phantom]

Danny leaned against the tree as well. He didn't want to force Sam to lean against him or anything but he wanted to go back to things like they were before Ember showed up. He sat for a moment just staring up at the sky, thinking about Sam. He wouldn't look at Sam and think about Sam because he knew she'd see it on his face.

[Sam]

Sam stole a peek at Danny before starting to drift off. He seemed to be blushing, but how could she tell? She was tired and possibly imagining things. Slyly she moved her hand closer to his, slipping it under his palm before leaning her head on his shoulder again. This time curling up slightly against him.

[Danny Phantom]

Danny thought over his next move what seemed like a million times before proceeding. He didn't want to mess things up but he couldn't get rid of this... He adjusted his position a bit, moving the one hand and replacing it with the other while sliding the one around her shoulders. Then he leaned his head down a bit and kissed the top of Sam's hair lightly before resting his head on the top of hers.

[Sam]

Sam couldn't help it, her eyes opened slightly. Looking over their position without moving her head so she wouldn't bother Danny. Had he just kissed the top of her head? She blinked a few times before just closing her eyes. She didn't get what was going on with Danny, if he was just glad to see her or if he actually liked her. She sighed slightly and unconsciously gave his hand a squeeze.

[Danny Phantom]

Please just let this moment last, Danny thought selfishly. He wanted to be with Sam. He knew that. But he didn't know what she wanted and he didn't want to force anything on her. But if she squeezing his hand was any indicator of how she felt he'd take it. In any normal circumstances, maybe with Valerie or (if he had been lucky... at the time) Paulina, he would have said something and asked her. But this moment with Sam was just too perfect to ruin. As much as he missed having his best friend or his sister around he didn't want anyone or anything to get in the way of his perfection if only for a few minutes. So Danny just sat there with his head resting on Sam's, his eyes open in thought, and his mind racing through a million possibilities and a million futures.

[Sam]

(TIME SKIP! XD)

About an hour later, Sam's eyes fluttered open as she let out a yawn and stretched her arms over her head, accidentally hitting Danny.

"oops! Sorry Danny," she said, "Forgot where I was for a second."

She couldn't help the blush on her face as she looked away from him.

[Danny Phantom]

"That's totally fine Sam," Danny chuckled, lying through his teeth. Sure, it wasn't great to be punch awake but he wouldn't let her know that. "Anyway, I needed to wake up." Okay, so he didn't know what he needed to wake up for he just needed an excuse because he knew Sam would try and ask for one. "I'm just glad nothing bothered us." He looked over at Sam, or rather, the back of her head. He could imagine the blush that he wished he could see rising on her cheeks.

[Sam]

He was glad nothing bothered them? What the hell was that suppose to mean? This boy just got more confusing by the second. She glanced at him and rolled her eyes, "Don't say its fine. Getting punched is something that should be in your ghost fights."
She smiled and hoped that the blush on her face had died down.

[Danny Phantom]

Danny smirked. "Would you believe that I actually don't get punched often? And I'm being dead serious. Most of the time I get smacked or thrown or stuff like that. I think the last person who punched me, besides you, might have been Dash."

[Sam]

Sam couldn't help it, she started laughing. It was so true, Danny hardly ever got punched or touched during ghost battles. Just smacked around and shot. Before she could think about it, she placed a hand on his chest and tried to stop laughing.

[Danny Phantom]

Danny grabbed her hand and held it there as he tried to steady her. "It's really not that funny, is it Sam?" he asked. Although, he'd admit it, he loved it when she laughed. She looked even more beautiful than she normally did. "Just, I dunno, breathe or something. I'm not the psychologist in the family. It's not like I can, you know, analyze the reasoning behind your laughing or something like that." Danny thought hard. What do you do when one of the gloomiest girls you know is doubled over laughing?

[Sam]

Sam tried to sober up, but Danny's hand on her's made her heart skip a beat. Laughter changed to a quick coughing fit. Finally sober, she didn't know weather or not to take her hand away or let him keep holding it. "Okay, okay," she said taking a few short breaths, "I'm good."

[Danny Phantom]

"Are you sure?" Danny asked, stalling. He didn't want to take his hands off of her. Okay, maybe there's a better way to say that, but in a way, it's true. "Don't kill yourself with laughter. You're not a weasel after all."

[Sam]

Sam bit her lip to keep herself from laughing. She had no idea why something so stupid was enough to get her to crack up. Maybe this is why she always thought of other girls as bumbling idiots. She found it hard to stay true to her individuality with Danny so close, she was acting like some sort of love struck teen.

[Danny Phantom]

"This is so not like you," Danny commented. "Are you sure that you're okay?" With much hesitation, he lifted her head lightly by the chin and brought her eyes up to meet his. He wouldn't show her how much this simple act made his heart race. He kept his face completely composed as he studdied her, trying to figure out what brought about this behavior.
